Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nickey Spillane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Severn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nickey Spillane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chris Severn! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spillane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Severn's guard. Spillane looking to pass the guard. Spillane working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Severn looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Spillane has picked Severn up and slammed him! Severn can't keep hold of the triangle and Spillane manages to pass to side control! Severn can't do much from the bottom here. Spillane scores with a couple of short elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Severn is looking for a sweep. Spillane controlling from side mount. This fight is sponsored by Chainsaw 7. More blood and guts and stuff like that, in cinemas everywhere now!

Spillane looks up at the clock and then as Severn takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Spillane smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Spillane has control of an arm but Severn manages to advance to Spillane's back! I really don't envy Spillane right now.
Spillane looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spillane tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Severn looking to ground and pound but Spillane is blocking nicely. Severn can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Spillane is looking to escape. Spillane working to try and regain half guard.

Spillane tries to lock up and control but Severn gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Spillane gets back to half guard. Severn throwing shots but Spillane is blocking nicely. Spillane tries to get to full guard but Severn has control of the leg. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Spillane is working hard here to advance position. That was a close round but I would say that Nickey Spillane will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

It looks like Chris Severn has been cut. Severn shoots in but Spillane avoids the takedown attempt easily. A solid leg kick lands there for Severn.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Severn throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Severn keeps Spillane at a distance using the push kick. Severn connects with the punch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Severn throws a nice outside leg kick. Severn lands a body shot.

Spillane closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Severn to the mat! Severn manages to get full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Severn can't keep his opponent in guard - Spillane advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Spillane throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Severn to regain full guard. Spillane loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Severn looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Severn lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. A jab lands there for Severn. Nice straight punches there by Spillane. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Spillane. Severn throws a head kick but Spillane moves out of range.
Spillane throws a shot from downtown. Severn moves away and avoids it. Spillane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Severn moves away. Spillane shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Severn counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Severn throws a big elbow that misses. Severn has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Severn trying to control but Spillane is working from the bottom. Spillane bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Severn's guard.

Spillane wants to control from the top but Severn keeps moving. Severn wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Spillane is now in half guard. Severn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Severn avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Spillane.

Severn wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Severn wants to control the position but Spillane says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Severn trying to control but Spillane postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Severn holds on and takes a little breather. Spillane trying to control but Severn is working from the bottom. Severn is trying to control the position but Spillane postures up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Spillane throws a looping overhand right but Severn ducks down to avoid it. Spillane is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Spillane scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A big left from Spillane misses. Severn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Severn throws a nice outside leg kick. Spillane throws a lazy right hand but Severn sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Severn misses with a jab, cross combination.
Spillane lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Spillane walks into a left hand. Spillane throws a sloppy body shot
and Severn counters with a nice leg kick. Severn lands a nice looking kick to the body. Spillane takes a step back to recover. Severn keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Spillane. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Spillane smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Severn works the jab nicely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Spillane takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Spillane instigates a clinch. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Spillane can't find room to land a body shot as Severn controls the action.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Severn creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. A left hand lands to the body for Severn.

It will also be interesting to see what tactics Spillane uses from the top position. Severn controls Spillane momentarily but Spillane frees himself. Severn keeping moving, preventing Spillane from controlling successfully. Chris Severn has got the better of the ground game so far.

Severn lands a left and a right that send Spillane crashing to the mat, dazed. Severn thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Spillane looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Severn looks to land a combination but Spillane avoids it well.

Spillane is rocked! Severn lands with a shot to the body. Spillane will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body. Spillane scores with a kick to the midsection. Severn throws a left and a right that both miss
and Spillane counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Spillane lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Severn has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Severn and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Severn looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Severn bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Spillane's head backwards. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spillane lands a nice looking body kick. Severn has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Severn misses with a takedown attempt. Spillane went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Severn throws a lazy uppercut
and Spillane counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Spillane on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Severn throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Spillane finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body. Severn is wobbling all over the place through exhaustion. Will he make it to the final bell? Spillane avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Nice jab there from Spillane. Severn looks for the body kick but Spillane saw that one coming. A left lands for Severn. Severn tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Spillane was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Spillane looks to land a right hand but Severn moved out of range. Spillane looks to land a body kick but Severn moved away. Severn counters with a body kick. Severn ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spillane moves away. Spillane shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Severn defends it nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Nickey Spillane. I think Spillane has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
