19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul McCracken! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCracken throws a front kick that sends Earlandson stumbling back into the cage. McCracken lands a big head kick that sends Earlandson tumbling to the mat! McCracken takes a step backwards and waves Earlandson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Kermit Earlandson has been cut. Earlandson fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McCracken to the ground. Earlandson is now in McCracken's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Earlandson drops back looking for a leg! McCracken is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McCracken manages to kick Earlandson off! Earlandson jumps back into McCracken's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Earlandson tries to free his leg and advance position but McCracken is retaining full guard. Earlandson has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Earlandson drops back looking for a leg! McCracken is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McCracken manages to kick Earlandson off! Earlandson jumps back into McCracken's guard. Earlandson has gone for a leg lock! McCracken slips out almost immediately though and dives into Earlandson's guard. Earlandson looking to control.

McCracken told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Earlandson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McCracken defends it easily. Earlandson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
