Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Peter Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Coson Granit!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis throws a series of punches but Granit avoids them all with ease.
Granit forces Davis back against the cage and clinches.
Davis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Granit prevents Davis from breaking the clinch.
Granit keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Davis's efforts to push away.
A frustrated look appears on Davis's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Granit breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Davis looks to land a combination. Granit sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
It looks like Coson Granit has been cut.
Davis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Granit is rocked!
Granit darts in trying to clinch
and Davis counters with a crisp right that sends Granit to the canvas! Davis follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Davis!
In defeat, Coson Granit stepped up to the mic, saying 'I had a stomach bug for the last 2 days but I'm going to recover soon'.
