PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kanchai Suya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Logan Sackett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Logan Sackett was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kanchai Suya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Logan Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice cross by Sackett.
Suya ducks right into an uppercut from Sackett.
Suya connects with the punch.
Sackett scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Suya doesn't seem bothered though.
Suya lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sackett at a distance.
Sackett throws an overhand right that lands on Suya's shoulder, as Suya tries to avoid the shot.
Sackett just misses with a punch to the body.
Suya cracks Sackett with a right hand to the side of the head.
Sackett looks for the body kick but Suya saw that one coming.
Suya wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Suya bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sackett scores with a jab.


It looks like Kanchai Suya has been cut.

Sackett lets loose with a powerful body kick. Suya will feel that in the morning.
Sackett throws a leg kick
and Suya finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Sackett throws a jab but it's blocked by Suya.
Sackett takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Suya avoids a kick to the body.
Suya uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sackett.
Sackett moves away from the strike by Suya.
Sackett avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A little jabbing left from Sackett on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

The fighters circling - Suya throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Suya, as that shot connected.
Sackett lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Sackett has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Sackett lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A bone on bone clash there as Suya blocks the leg kick.

Suya unloads a knee to the mid-section. Sackett lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Suya wants to stand but Sackett is controlling his posture from full guard.

Sackett is pulling down on Suya's head. It's preventing any offense from Suya, at least for the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Suya tries to close the distance and clinch but Sackett swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Suya takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Suya throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sackett throws a counter combo.
Suya slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Oh Suya is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That was a close second round but I would say that Kanchai Suya will probably get the nod.

Suya is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Suya takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Suya wants to get up but he can't break Sackett's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kanchai Suya.
I think Suya has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
