Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Murray Bookchin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bookchin comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Suicide Machines - Islands kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joy James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Murray Bookchin! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bookchin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from James. Bookchin lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
James throws a looping overhand right but Bookchin ducks down to avoid it. James definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Bookchin dodges the punch combination from James.
Bookchin keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
James swats away the attempt to clinch by Bookchin. Bookchin has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Bookchin misses with a hook
and James counters with a nice uppercut. Bookchin misses with a hook. James ducked under it nicely. James is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bookchin. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bookchin bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Bookchin darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Bookchin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from James. Bookchin with a hook. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! James moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Bookchin misses the jab.

and James connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The fighters circling - James throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bookchin throws a counter combo. Bookchin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. James instigates a clinch. Bookchin fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Bookchin jumps guard but James stands there with Bookchin around his waist. Bookchin gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bookchin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables James to keep the fight standing. Joy James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Murray Bookchin. James scores with a shot to the side of Bookchin's head. Bookchin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bookchin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. James wants to get up but he can't break Bookchin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. James is stalling in the full guard. James knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bookchin on the ground. James wanted to stand there but Bookchin had control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James controls the pace of the fight for a moment. James wants to pass the guard but Bookchin is keeping the position. Bookchin trying to control the position.
James is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. James lands a jab-cross combination. James looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bookchin takes a swing at James's ribcage but misses. James gets a clinch. James lands with a left to the head. James tries to work over Bookchin's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Bookchin gets through James's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. James is working Bookchin over against the cage. James pushes Bookchin back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. A nice right hand lands inside from James. James is trying to break the clinch but Bookchin is controlling him. Nice body punch from James - that landed with a thud.
James lands an uppercut. James lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Bookchin or not. James lands with a short punch from the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Bookchin or not. James pushes Bookchin back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. A right hook to the body lands for James.
James lands a shot to the body. James lands a nice shot to the body. Bookchin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite James's efforts to push away. Bookchin tries to pull guard but James holds him up against the cage and eventually Bookchin drops back down to his feet.

Still in the clinch, James scores with a nice short uppercut. James pushes Bookchin against the cage. James is working some dirty boxing. James pushes off with a quick right hook! Bookchin goes down! Bookchin tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! James moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joy James! After winning the bout, Joy James thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
