Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Conor Macguire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nebel Ank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Macguire's entrance music is This Fire Burns. A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Conor Macguire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Nebel Ank! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macguire displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ank. Macguire connects with a single shot there. The fight stays on the outside here - Ank looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Ank shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Macguire as he jumps to the side. Macguire is looking to counter with head kicks. A jab lands there for Macguire. Macguire could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Macguire tries a head kick but it misses.
Conor Macguire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Macguire pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ank clinches with his opponent.
Macguire is trying to pull guard but Ank turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Ank fails to land. Ank is trying to break free. Ank misses with an elbow over the top. Ank breaks the clinch.
Macguire circles away from the clinch attempt.
Ank throws a sloppy head kick and Macguire moves out of range easily. Ank shoots for a takedown but Macguire saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Conor Macguire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nebel Ank. Macguire throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ank. Ank throws a low kick but it's checked well by Macguire. Macguire tries to clinch up but Ank circles away and keeps his distance. Macguire misses with a double jab.
Macguire is breathing heavily. Ank misses with a takedown attempt - Macguire sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ank misses with a head kick.
Macguire lands a head kick. Ank smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Ank scores with a jab to the jaw. Macguire is looking to clinch but Ank is avoiding it.
Ank avoids the head kick by Macguire.
Ank throws out a counter right but Macguire avoids it with no problem. Macguire throws a sloppy head kick and Ank moves out of range easily. Ank shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Macguire defends it nicely. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No luck with that takedown attempt from Ank. Macguire tries a head kick but it misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ank misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Macguire throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ank's head. Ank shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Macguire is trying to defend but Ank finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Ank tries to stand but can't do so whilst Macguire controls his leg. Ank looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Ank is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Macguire has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ank decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Jab by Macguire. Macguire wants to clinch up but Ank keeps it at a distance. Ank throws a counter combo. Ank with a lazy takedown attempt and Macguire counters with a right hand to the body. Macguire tries a head kick but it misses.
Ank shoots in and drives through. Macguire sprawls well. Macguire instigates a clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A bit of stalling here from Ank.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Conor Macguire dominated that round. That's time! Macguire's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ank is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Macguire's half guard. Ank decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Macguire throws a head kick but Ank moves out of range.
Some bone on bone action there as Macguire checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Conor Macguire is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The fight moves into the clinch position. Ank escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Macguire keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ank tries to clinch up. Ank dives in and scores a takedown into Macguire's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ank pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Macguire is keeping the position for now. Ank wanted to stand there but Macguire had control of the position. Ank trying to control but Macguire is working from the bottom. Macguire has a closed guard, preventing Ank from standing up. Ank trying to control but Macguire is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ank drops back, looking for a kneebar! Macguire looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Macguire looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Macguire! Ank is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Ank taking punishment in the form of punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Macguire working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Ank on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Macguire lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Ank down.
Macguire cracks Ank with a big elbow. Ank is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Macguire is chipping away with strikes.
Ank is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Macguire is controlling him well. Macguire looks up at the clock and then as Ank takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Macguire smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Macguire creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Macguire is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Ank looks calm but he's in trouble here. Macguire gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Ank is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Macguire lets go of the hold and Ank can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Conor Macguire! Conor Macguire decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
