Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Blake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lyle Fretwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lyle Fretwell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jesse Blake! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lyle Fretwell! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Blake. Blake tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Fretwell was well out of range. Poor timing from Blake. Fretwell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blake manages to avoid it. Blake buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fretwell throws a lazy right hand but Blake sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Blake appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Blake avoids a low kick by using good footwork. An inside leg kick lands from Blake. Blake jabs Fretwell right on the nose. Fretwell blinks but takes it well. Fretwell tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Blake was well out of range. Poor timing from Fretwell. Fretwell just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBlake. Blake throws a body punch but Fretwell moves out of range. A decent looking cross lands there for Blake. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blake takes a swing at Fretwell's ribcage but misses. We've been hearing reports that Blake has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. A combination from Fretwell does no damage. A slapping body kick lands there for Blake. Blake tests Fretwell's chin there with a solid looking shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fretwell feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blake wants to sweep but no luck. Fretwell loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Blake isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Fretwell stacks Blake on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Fretwell! Fretwell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Blake, who protects the arm well. Fretwell lands a decent elbow from side control. Fretwell tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Blake takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fretwell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blake keeps working. Fretwell advances to mount. Fretwell has hold of Blake's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Blake manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Fretwell wants to control the pace but Blake is squirming around nicely. Blake tries to hold on but Fretwell pushes him away. Fretwell looking to control but Blake is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blake is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Fretwell looking to finish Blake with some ground and pound. This is bad for Blake! Blake prevents Fretwell from taking his back. Fretwell controlling the position easily from mount. Fretwell putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fretwell fails to take his opponent's back. Blake wants to control but Fretwell is having none of it. Fretwell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Blake is wriggling around trying to escape.
Blake taking shots to the head. Blake tries to hold on but Fretwell postures up. Fretwell lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Blake hang on? And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lyle Fretwell dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Fretwell shoots in for a takedown but Blake shows good takedown defense. Jesse Blake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fretwell on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Fretwell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Fretwell has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Blake bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Blake lands a head shot. Fretwell swings away with a body shot that misses
and Blake counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Blake lands with a right hand. Blake is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Blake will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Blake throws a wild body kick that Fretwell sees coming a mile off. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blake circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fretwell takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Jesse Blake is winning the standup battle so far. A jab from Blake does it's job there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Blake lands a nice shot that snaps Fretwell's head back.

That's one minute gone in the round. Blake fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Fretwell goes for a double leg but Blake avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Blake continues to drive forward. Blake with a body punch. A glancing blow. Blake lands a head shot. Blake feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Fretwell's calf. Fretwell takes a body punch but keeps moving. Fretwell defending well as Blake loads up on a big left hand. Fretwell changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Fretwell takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Blake throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Fretwell on the side of the head. Fretwell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blake paws at him with a jab and circles away. It looked like Blake was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Fretwell. Blake throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Fretwell tries for a takedown but Blake sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Jesse Blake has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lyle Fretwell. Blake takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Fretwell tightening his grip on Blake, looking for the choke. Fretwell controlling well, preventing Blake from escaping the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Blake trying to control the action but Fretwell just sinks the hooks in. Will Fretwell go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Fretwell prevents Blake from improving his position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fretwell connects with a nice short shot to Blake's temple. Fretwell prevents Blake from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jesse Blake dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Fretwell slips under a jab from Blake. Fretwell throws a series of punches but Blake avoids them all with ease. Blake throws a shot to the body.
Blake lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fretwell is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Blake. Fretwell throws a quick inside leg kick. Fretwell showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Blake.

That's one minute gone in the round. Fretwell on the wrong end of a nice hook. Blake scores with a kick to the midsection. Blake slips a jab and a cross from Fretwell.

Fretwell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Fretwell takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. A slow jab from Blake misses its intended target. Fretwell drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Blake defends it well. Blake loads up on a big right hand but Fretwell slips the punch. Fretwell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fretwell trying to control the action but Blake is working from the bottom. Fretwell advances to mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blake is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Blake tries to control Fretwell's body but Fretwell pushes him off. Blake squirms to his side and now Fretwell has his back! Fretwell has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Blake. Fretwell controls the position. Fretwell is not going to allow Blake to sit and survive in this position. Fretwell seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Blake's chin but Blake turns very nicely into Fretwell's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Blake.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blake wants to pass the guard but Fretwell is keeping the position. Fretwell wants to control but Blake passes easily into half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Fretwell manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Blake wants to control from the top but Fretwell keeps moving. Fretwell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blake is one step ahead there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Blake throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fretwell works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Blake preventing the sweep. Fretwell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Jesse Blake showed his dominance in that final round. I think Blake has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
