The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penjedo with a poor takedown
and Talbot counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Humberto Penjedo has been cut.
Talbot lands a big head kick that sends Penjedo tumbling to the mat! Talbot takes a step backwards and waves Penjedo back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Penjedo is rocked!
Talbot pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Penjedo is still on wobbly legs! Can Talbot finish him?
Talbot misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Penjedo seems to have recovered his senses.
Talbot misses with a two punch combination.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Penjedo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Talbot defends well and Penjedo ends up having to push Talbot into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Talbot. No joy for Penjedo on that attempt.
As Penjedo looks to move away, Talbot throws a big counter combo bu Penjedo just gets out of the way.
Jefferson Talbot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Humberto Penjedo.
Penjedo tries a head kick but it misses.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Talbot lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Penjedo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Penjedo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
A looping hook to the body misses from Talbot. Penjedo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Penjedo blocks a head kick by Talbot.
Talbot sets himself, and Penjedo steps forward looking for the clinch! Talbot avoids it this time.
Talbot looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Penjedo looks to land a combination but Talbot avoids it well.

Penjedo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Talbot pinned against the cage. Talbot gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Talbot misses with the combination.
Penjedo tries to bum rush Talbot with a series of wild strikes but Talbot uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Talbot lands a jab-cross combination.
Penjedo avoids a punch combination nicely.
Penjedo shoots in for a takedown but Talbot shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Talbot swings for the body but Penjedo moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Talbot misses with a wild combination.
Talbot throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Penjedo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Penjedo counters with a straight right hand.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jefferson Talbot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Penjedo is looking to clinch.

Talbot throws a big counter combination but Penjedo scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Penjedo misses with a series of wild punches.
Talbot connects with a nice looking jab.
Talbot rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Penjedo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Talbot lands a left and a right that send Penjedo crashing to the mat, dazed. Talbot thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
That has opened up Humberto Penjedo's cut even more.
Talbot lands with a big left! Penjedo is wobbled badly! Talbot comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Penjedo to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
