The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
gold will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
gold looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Valez is fending him off so far but gold persists. Nope, Valez circles away and we're back to standing.
A swing and a miss from gold.
gold throws a leg kick but Valez sees it coming and checks it nicely.
gold moves forwards but Valez connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Valez misses with a wild combination.
Valez misses with a wild body shot.
gold fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Guillermo Valez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of mr gold.
Valez throws a left that rocks gold and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Valez dives into side control, looking to finish! Can gold regain composure!

Valez lands a strong strike to the head of gold. That's dazed him! Valez looking to finish here. gold is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Valez lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
