Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyoji Anzai! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Number Forty Two! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Forty Two has his takedown stuffed and Anzai counters with a lovely straight right hand! Forty Two shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Anzai pinned against the cage. Anzai gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Forty Two has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Anzai. Forty Two misses with a takedown attempt and Anzai counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Kyoji Anzai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Number Forty Two. Anzai jabs Forty Two right on the nose. Forty Two blinks but takes it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anzai gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Forty Two is trying to maintain a safe position but Anzai gets an underhook and turns Forty Two into the cage. Forty Two is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Anzai is defending well. Forty Two prevents the takedown attempt.
Anzai pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Anzai takes the fight into the clinch. Forty Two is trying to pull guard but Anzai turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Anzai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Forty Two takes a kick to the side of the head. Forty Two tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Anzai paws at him with a jab and circles away. Forty Two shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Forty Two showed some decent athleticism there. Forty Two wants to work for an arm triangle but Anzai is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Anzai is trying is best to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anzai moves into full guard.
Forty Two looking to sit in guard and control but Anzai gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Forty Two is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Anzai with a flurry of punches that miss. Anzai pushing down on Forty Two's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Anzai not doing much here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Anzai performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Anzai wants to stand up but Forty Two has a hold of him and won't allow it. Anzai not doing much here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Anzai takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Anzai - that will leave a mark!
Forty Two moves to clinch but Anzai breaks away and Anzai counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Forty Two shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Anzai counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Forty Two tries for a takedown but Anzai circles away easily and Anzai counters with a stiff right hand. Anzai throws a head kick that half lands.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kyoji Anzai dominated that round. That's time! Anzai's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Forty Two misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Anzai counters with a leg kick. Forty Two shoots for a takedown but Anzai saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Anzai scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Forty Two doesn't seem bothered though. Anzai connects with a body shot that sends Forty Two's belly button to the back. Forty Two tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Forty Two with a lazy takedown attempt and Anzai counters with a three punch combo that has Forty Two backing up. Forty Two nods at Anzai to acknowledge the strikes. Anzai lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Forty Two with a poor takedown and Anzai counters with a leg kick. Kyoji Anzai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Number Forty Two. Forty Two missing with a left hand there. Anzai was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Forty Two shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Anzai counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Forty Two is breathing heavily. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Forty Two misses with a double jab
and Anzai counters with a straight right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Forty Two gets tackled into the cage by Anzai. Anzai maintains the clinch. Forty Two tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Anzai avoids it. Forty Two on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Anzai is looking for a takedown. Forty Two throws a knee to the head but misses.
Anzai goes for a takedown attempt but Forty Two pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Forty Two is trying hard to land a takedown here. Anzai sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Anzai gets in close and instigates a clinch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Anzai gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Forty Two looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Forty Two really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anzai. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Forty Two tries to strike from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Forty Two tries to kick Anzai off but Anzai keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Forty Two wants to get back to full guard. Forty Two is looking to control Anzai's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Forty Two avoid being mounted? Anzai is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Forty Two can do to turn this around? Forty Two looking for submissions off his back. Forty Two won't allow Anzai to pass to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Forty Two fails with the takedown and Anzai counters with a series of strikes. Forty Two will be more careful next time no doubt. Kyoji Anzai is winning the standup battle so far. Anzai closes the distance and pushes Forty Two back into the cage. Anzai ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Anzai no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Anzai has his foot on Forty Two's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Forty Two works his way back into a safe position though. Kyoji Anzai overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Forty Two trying to control but Anzai is working from the bottom. Forty Two is looking to stand up but Anzai won't let him. Forty Two wants to pass the guard but Anzai is keeping the position. Forty Two is fighting to break Anzai's control of his arms but Anzai is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Forty Two throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Anzai keeps the fight on the outside. Forty Two fails with a takedown attempt. Anzai appears to be looking for a big counter. Anzai drives through and clinches with Forty Two against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anzai has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Forty Two avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Forty Two is trying to pull guard but Anzai has him pressed against the cage. Anzai wants a takedown but no success here.

Kyoji Anzai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Number Forty Two. A head kick by Forty Two misses and Anzai counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Both fighters circling a little - Anzai finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Anzai keeps Forty Two at a distance using the push kick. Forty Two tries to clinch but Anzai moves away and Anzai counters with a lovely shot to the body. Anzai lands a right hook to the body.
Anzai lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Anzai lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Forty Two fails with an attempt to clinch.
Forty Two moves to clinch but Anzai breaks away and Anzai counters with a straight right hand. Forty Two misses with a takedown and Anzai counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Forty Two takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Anzai gets a clinch. The referee is keeping an eye on Anzai - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Forty Two has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Forty Two jumps guard but Anzai stands there with Forty Two around his waist. Forty Two gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anzai jumps guard and drags Forty Two to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Forty Two is looking to stand up but Anzai won't let him. Forty Two trying to control but Anzai is working from the bottom. Forty Two is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Anzai pulls Forty Two in close to prevent any damage. Anzai has a closed guard, preventing Forty Two from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Anzai is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Anzai stuffs the takedown attempt from Forty Two. Forty Two gets slowly back to his feet. Forty Two shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Forty Two takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Forty Two has his takedown stuffed and Anzai counters with a nice body kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Kyoji Anzai showed his dominance in that final round. Well Anzai has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
