Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Eder Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Deair Shaw!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a two punch combination.
Silva throws a series of punches but Shaw avoids them all with ease.
Silva throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Shaw bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silva rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Shaw moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Silva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Shaw circles away quickly and effectively.
Silva closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Silva bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Shaw moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shaw has hold of one of Silva's legs. Silva is fighting the takedown attempt but Shaw gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Silva kicks Shaw off and gets to his feet.
Eder Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva tries to bum rush Shaw with a series of wild strikes but Shaw uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Shaw takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Shaw should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Silva seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Shaw closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Silva's guard.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Shaw prevents Silva from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shaw working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Silva's head.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Shaw working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Shaw has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Silva shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Shaw eats them both and turns towards Silva to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Shaw tries to close the distance and clinch but Silva swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Shaw shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Silva is trying to escape back to his feet but Shaw uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Silva is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Shaw has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Shaw has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Silva!

Silva wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Shaw has control of Silva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Silva regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Shaw misses with a head shot.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Silva is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Silva is trying to stand but he's just given Shaw his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva is trying to get back to his feet but Shaw has full control of the position and if anything, Silva has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eder Silva dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sloppy strikes from Silva. Those never looked like landing.
Silva scores with a one two! Shaw had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Eder Silva is winning the standup battle so far.
Shaw tries to clinch up.
Silva lands with a nice combination. Shaw backs away looking to recover.
Shaw will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
As Shaw looks to move away, Silva throws a big counter combo bu Shaw just gets out of the way.

Silva throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shaw is still on wobbly legs! Can Silva finish him?
Shaw gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Shaw tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Silva is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Shaw buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Shaw!! Shaw is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Silva throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eder Silva!
