Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Klay Montez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shaun Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shaun Davis will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Klay Montez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shaun Davis! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Davis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Montez swats him away and circles back towards the center. Davis digs a good hook to Montez's body.
Montez checks a low kick from Davis. Davis throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Montez.
It looks like Klay Montez has been cut. Davis throws a quick inside leg kick. A slapping body kick lands there for Davis. Davis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Davis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Montez is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Davis. Montez shoots in but no luck this time. Davis throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Montez's head. Davis's coach down at was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Davis's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. This has been an exciting period of action! Davis throws a head kick that Montez semi-blocks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davis scores with a head kick.
Davis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Montez is trying to pull guard but Davis has him pressed against the cage. Montez pulls guard effortlessly. Davis wants to control from the top but Montez keeps moving. Montez controlling the position. Montez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Montez trying to control the position from guard on top but Davis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Davis has momentary wrist control but Montez slips an elbow through the middle. Davis being controlled here, momentarily. Montez throws a big elbow that misses. Montez pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Davis is keeping the position for now. Montez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Montez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Montez looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Montez drops back looking for a leg! Davis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davis manages to kick Montez off! Montez jumps back into Davis's guard. Montez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Montez is working Davis over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Montez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Davis wants to control but Montez passes easily into half guard.
Montez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Davis is defending against the submission attempts here by Montez.
Montez seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Davis is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
