Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yong Winters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oswald Nordic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Oswald Nordic will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Yong Winters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Oswald Nordic!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nordic clinches with his opponent.

Winters turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Nordic is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Winters off and has taken his back!

Nordic is persistently looking for the submission but Winters is defending it well.
Winters tries to escape but Nordic has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Winters rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Nordic is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Winters is just riding it out for now. Nordic eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Winters looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Winters flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Winters is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Winters is pressing down on Nordic's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Nordic preventing the sweep.
Nordic wants to control from the top but Winters keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nordic controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Winters is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Winters has momentary wrist control but Nordic slips an elbow through the middle.
Winters not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Nordic keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Winters's head.
Nordic passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Nordic lands a few punches from side control.
Winters can't do much from the bottom here.
Nordic is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Nordic is looking to take a break and control but Winters is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Nordic has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Nordic darts in and clinches Winters up against the cage.

Winters pulls guard.
Nordic tries to free his leg and advance position but Winters is retaining full guard.
Nordic passes Winters's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Winters is refusing to be controlled, as Nordic sits in half guard.

Nordic wants to pass to mount but Winters is defending the position.
Winters trying to hold on to Nordic's head to control him but Nordic postures up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nordic connects with a nice short shot to Winters's temple.

Nordic is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Winters has managed to free his arm - good work.
Winters regains full guard. Nicely done.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Nordic scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oswald Nordic dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Winters bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Nordic struggling a bit here.
Nordic is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Nordic tries to bench press Winters off him but Winters keeps the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Winters working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Nordic can't do much from the bottom here.
Nordic sneaks back into half guard.
Nordic is holding on to half guard well.
Nordic is pressing down on Winters's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Winters accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nordic had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Winters defends it easily.
Winters content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Winters with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Nordic manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Winters manages to get himself to full guard.


Nordic gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Winters tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Nordic defends well and Winters ends up having to push Nordic into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Winters counters by moving into the clinch.
Nordic is breathing heavily.
Winters is looking for a takedown.
Nordic is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Winters to keep the fight standing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nordic is on top in guard.

Oswald Nordic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Nordic throws a sloppy head kick

and Winters counters by clinching up.
Nordic has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Winters after a bit of a struggle.
Nordic jumps guard but Winters stands there with Nordic around his waist. Nordic gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Nordic working hard to break the clinch.
Nordic wants to stall.

Winters gets control of Nordic's arms and successfully pulls guard. Winters will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Nordic moves into the clinch.
Nordic tries to throw a body punch but Winters avoids it by throwing Nordic back against the cage.
Nordic is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Winters is keeping busy.
Nordic putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Winters in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Nordic fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Yong Winters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oswald Nordic.
Winters is trying to pull guard but Nordic turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Winters keeps control of Nordic as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Nordic is looking to control Winters's arms but Winters gets an underhook and turns him. Now Nordic has his back to the cage.
Nordic has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Winters is stalling here.

Nordic swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Nordic tries to pull guard but Winters holds him up against the cage and eventually Nordic drops back down to his feet.
Nordic has had enough of the clinch but Winters keeps him there for the moment.
Nordic is trying to push Winters away but Winters has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nordic is looking for a takedown.
Nordic takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Winters gets control of Nordic's arms and successfully pulls guard. Winters will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Winters thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Nordic looking to pass the guard.
Winters throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Winters bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Nordic's guard.

Nordic will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Yong Winters has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Oswald Nordic is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Nordic looking to sit in guard and control but Winters gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


And that's the end of the fight!
Yong Winters showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Nordic has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
