Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Predator Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Pedan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burns comes to the cage accompanied by Jiu-Jitsu. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Alexander Pedan enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Predator Burns! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Pedan! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burns fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Burns getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Burns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pedan moves away. Burns throws a half hearted mid kick. Pedan tries to work over Burns's front leg with a kick but Burns checks it. Burns closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pedan to the mat! Pedan manages to get full guard. Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Pedan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pedan controlling Burns's posture. Pedan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Burns is controlling him. Burns trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pedan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Burns is controlling him. Pedan keeping moving, preventing Burns from controlling successfully. Pedan has Burns pulled in close to control his posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pedan wants to sweep here but Burns controlling him for the moment. Burns throwing strikes but missing. Burns prevents Pedan from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. We've been hearing reports that Burns has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Pedan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it. Donk. Burns catches Pedan right on the button with a cross. Pedan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pedan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Pedan misses with a series of wild punches.
Pedan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Burns can pounce on him.
Burns shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Pedan swings widly with a right hand
and Burns counters with a nice double leg into guard. Burns won't allow Pedan to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Burns is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Burns pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pedan is keeping the position for now. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pedan holds on and takes a little breather. Pedan wants to get back to his feet but Burns is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Pedan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Burns loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Burns has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Burns works a leg free and moves into half guard. Pedan trying to control here.

Burns takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Burns seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pedan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Burns is trying to work for a kimura but Pedan is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Burns is fighting to break Pedan's control of his arms but Pedan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Pedan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Burns. Burns throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Pedan checks a leg kick. Alexander Pedan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pedan steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Burns. That one must have hurt. Burns drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pedan bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! A slapping body kick lands there for Burns. A combination from Pedan does no damage. A punch combination from Pedan misses. A big right from Pedan misses. Burns takes one to the side of the head.
Burns steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pedan. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Predator Burns will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Burns shoots in looking for a takedown but Pedan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Burns's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Pedan throws an overhand right that lands on Burns's shoulder, as Burns tries to avoid the shot. Burns shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Pedan throws out a counter right but Burns avoids it with no problem. Pedan looks to land a combination but Burns avoids it well. Burns checks a leg kick nicely. Pedan lands an overhand right. Pedan just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pedan gets in close and instigates a clinch. Pedan stalling in the clinch but Burns improves position. Pedan throws a punch but it's blocked by Burns. A head punch on the inside from Pedan fails to land. Burns blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Burns goes for a takedown attempt but Pedan pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pedan throws a sloppy head kick and Burns counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Burns stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pedan swivels though and keeps the full guard. Pedan working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Burns. Pedan looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Burns trying to control the position from guard on top but Pedan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Pedan wants to stand up but Burns is controlling him. Pedan trying to keep a closed guard but Burns is proving a slippery customer.

Burns closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pedan is looking to control Burns's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pedan avoid being mounted? Burns wants to control but Pedan is keeping him busy. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pedan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burns is working away from the top position though.

Can Pedan avoid being mounted? Burns is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Pedan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Burns. Burns perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Burns scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Pedan wants to control but Burns is keeping busy and won't allow it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pedan wants to get back to his feet.

Burns drops down looking for a counter takedown but Pedan sprawls and moves away. Alexander Pedan seems to be getting the better of the standup. Pedan looks to land a body kick but Burns moved away. Pedan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Burns stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Pedan throws a body shot but no joy. A decent looking cross lands there for Pedan. Pedan throws a sloppy head kick and Burns moves out of range easily. Alexander Pedan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Burns pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pedan back to the cage. Burns follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. This has been an exciting period of action! Pedan throws a series of punches but Burns avoids them all with ease. Burns lets loose with a powerful body kick. Pedan will feel that in the morning. Burns connects with a body shot. Burns uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pedan. Pedan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pedan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Burns looks to throw the jab but Pedan is out of range. Burns moves away from the strike by Pedan. Burns scores with a head kick.

Pedan throws a low kick but it's checked well by Burns. Burns feints and then cracks Pedan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pedan down. Burns gets the takedown into side control. Pedan is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Burns is looking to take a break and control but Pedan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Burns is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pedan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pedan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Burns wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Burns cracks Pedan with an elbow. That is naaassty. Burns working away. Pedan is trying to buck Burns off. Pedan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Burns connects with a decent elbow. Pedan is trying to escape the position but Burns is controlling the position. Pedan throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Burns looks to land a body kick but Pedan moved away. A little jabbing left from Pedan on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Pedan throws a hook but Burns avoids it easily. Pedan misses with a wild body shot. Pedan tries to close the distance and clinch but Burns swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Burns tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Pedan manages to circle out of the way.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burns fails to land the takedown. Burns dives in and scores a takedown into Pedan's guard. Pedan wriggles free and stands up. Pedan throws a quick inside leg kick. Burns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Pedan was well out of range. Poor timing from Burns. Burns chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Pedan can pounce on him.

Burns scores with the left hand. Pedan knows he should have avoided that one. Pedan misses with an uppercut. Burns saw that one coming. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Burns slips a jab from Pedan. Burns thumps Pedan with a low kick. Burns swats away the attempt to clinch by Pedan.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pedan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Burns sees it coming and avoids it easily. Burns throws a body punch but Pedan moves out of range. A punch combination from Pedan misses. Burns connects with a solid leg kick. Pedan tries to clinch but Burns moves out of range. Pedan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Burns. Burns obviously looking to wear him down.
Burns throws a right and a left that both miss. Sloppy strikes from Pedan. Those never looked like landing. Pedan missing with a left hand there. Burns was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Pedan scores with the left hand. Burns knows he should have avoided that one. A lazy left from Pedan finds it's target. Pedan throws a series of punches but Burns avoids them all with ease. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pedan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Alexander Pedan. I think Pedan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
