PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Gerson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Sitko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gerson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to RAP JIU-JITSU. Johnny Sitko will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sitko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gerson throwing a counter right hand but Sitko manages to avoid it.
Sitko tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Sitko moves into the clinch.
Sitko's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Sitko keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Gerson's efforts to push away.
Sitko gets through Gerson's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Gerson is trying to break the clinch but Sitko has him pressed against the cage.
Gerson is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Sitko pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Gerson goes for a takedown attempt but Sitko pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sitko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gerson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Gerson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Sitko manages to circle out of the way.

Gerson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Gerson maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Sitko could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Gerson has cracked it and Sitko is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Gerson!

After winning the bout, Ricardo Gerson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
