Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Frankham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eli Frankham! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frankham tries to clinch but Machado is having none of it. Frankham clinches. Frankham lands a left hand that snaps the head of Machado backwards. Machado tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Nice body punch from Frankham - that landed with a thud.
Machado is looking to take this one to the mat. Frankham's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Frankham gets in close and instigates a clinch. Machado looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Frankham being controlled against the cage. Machado pulls guard effortlessly. Frankham must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frankham would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Machado is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Machado is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Frankham is aware though and is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Machado has a closed guard, preventing Frankham from standing up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Frankham avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Frankham is posturing up here but Machado has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Frankham tries to roll out but it's too tight and Frankham has to tap! Slick submission there by Machado!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Roger Machado! After the fight, Roger Machado was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
