Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oscar Wilde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Whiteford (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Oscar Wilde! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronnie Whiteford! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Whiteford avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Whiteford shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wilde sprawls well. Wilde wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Whiteford gets slowly back to his feet. Wilde instigates a clinch. Whiteford using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Wilde has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

The crowd applauds. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Whiteford wants to get back to his feet but Wilde is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Whiteford is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wilde wants to stand but Whiteford is controlling his posture from full guard.

Wilde manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Whiteford is pushing Wilde up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Whiteford effectively controlling the action here. Wilde tries to throw a body punch but Whiteford avoids it by throwing Wilde back against the cage. Whiteford breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oscar Wilde will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Whiteford is keen to just control but Wilde is a slippery customer. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Wilde pushes Whiteford off and gets back to his feet. Whiteford moves into the clinch. Wilde is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Whiteford is defending well for now. Whiteford pulls guard. Whiteford controls Wilde momentarily but Wilde frees himself. Whiteford working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Wilde doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Whiteford is tightening it up a little... Wilde has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Wilde reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Wilde taps out! Nice BJJ there by Whiteford!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Ronnie Whiteford! In his post fight interview, Ronnie Whiteford started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
