Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Benny Breese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kyoji Anzai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Benny Breese!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyoji Anzai!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anzai tries to clinch but Breese is having none of it.
Anzai stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Anzai wants it to stay on the feet.
Anzai misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Breese.
Breese appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Anzai connects with a leg kick. Breese looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Breese shoots in and gets a takedown into Anzai's guard.
Anzai keeping moving, preventing Breese from controlling successfully.
Breese is fighting to break Anzai's control of his arms but Anzai is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Anzai escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Breese gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anzai is looking for a triangle but Breese pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Anzai has his hands on Breese's head, controlling the position.
Anzai wants to get back to his feet but Breese is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Breese postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Anzai is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Breese, into his guard.

Breese on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Breese tries to get out of the position.
Anzai engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Breese tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Breese working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Anzai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Anzai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Breese is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Anzai wants to stand but Breese is controlling his posture from full guard.
Breese avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Breese manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Anzai manages to get himself to full guard.


Anzai has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Breese can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Breese throws a big right hand that misses.
Anzai looking to hit a scissor sweep but Breese is one step ahead there.
Breese wants to control from the top but Anzai keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Anzai is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Breese trying to control but Anzai is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Anzai has Breese up against the cage in a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Anzai jumps guard but Breese stands there with Anzai around his waist. Anzai gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Breese just leaning against Anzai, taking a breather.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kyoji Anzai will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Breese goes for a double leg but Anzai avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Anzai continues to drive forward.
Anzai tries to clinch but Breese moves out of range.

Breese manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Anzai on his heels. He'll look to pass Anzai's guard now, I'm sure.

Anzai has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Breese is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Anzai.
Anzai is looking for a sweep.
Anzai takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Breese tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Anzai takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Breese has control of an arm but Anzai manages to advance to Breese's back!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Anzai really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Breese.
Breese is really stuck here.
Breese trying to control the hands but Anzai won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Anzai misses with punches from the back.
Breese manages to scramble and ends up in full guard, under a barage of strikes . Great composure from Breese.
Anzai preventing the sweep.
Breese controls Anzai momentarily but Anzai frees himself.

Anzai content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Breese has locked up a guillotine! Breese's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Anzai is holding on here and Breese must be using up a lot of energy. Anzai has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Breese gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Benny Breese!
