The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mau will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Stechnij avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mau throws a nice looking combination but Stechnij bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Stechnij ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mau tries to close the distance and clinch but Stechnij swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mau drives through with a takedown into guard.

Stechnij is looking for a triangle but Mau pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Stechnij is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Stechnij has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mau is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Stechnij.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Mau is trying to stand back up.
Stechnij has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Mau.

Mau manages to stand up with Stechnij still on his back. Eventually Stechnij drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Mau closes the distance and clinches up with Stechnij, looking for a takedown. Mau pushes Stechnij against the cage but Stechnij circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

That was a close second round but I would say that Colle Stechnij will probably get the nod.
