Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yokozuna Asashoryu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King has chosen Saliva-Badass as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Yokozuna Asashoryu has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King throws a nice looking combination but Asashoryu bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
King has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Asashoryu tries to keep at a distance but King has taken the fight into the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, King creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
King tries a body shot but Asashoryu blocks it.
King tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Asashoryu prevents a body shot from King.
Asashoryu working hard to break the clinch.
King lands a body punch.
Asashoryu blocks an uppercut.
King goes for a takedown in the clinch but Asashoryu prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
King throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Asashoryus head.

King tries to throw a body punch but Asashoryu avoids it by throwing King back against the cage.

Asashoryu breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Asashoryu dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Asashoryu has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Asashoryu there as he acknowledges the shot.
Tony King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
King on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
King misses with a jab, cross combination.
Asashoryu lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
King scores with a nice head shot.

King clinches up with Asashoryu and pushes him back against the cage.

King is looking to take this one to the mat.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
King lands with a light punch inside.

King breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

King closes the distance and clinches up with Asashoryu, looking for a takedown. King pushes Asashoryu against the cage but Asashoryu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Yokozuna Asashoryu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony King.

You can see the frustration on Asashoryu's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
King is trying to ground and pound but Asashoryu uses the momentary lack of control by King to regain half guard.

King lands a couple of decent looking shots.
King connects with a couple of short punches.
King throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Asashoryu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
King wants to pass the guard but Asashoryu is keeping the position.

Asashoryu is rocked!
King arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Asashoryu's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tony King!
Tony King gave a mention to BlackStar Athletics in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
