Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bryson Ramos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mariusz Banicki ! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ramos has taken the fight to the clinch.
Banicki wants a takedown.
Ramos gets underhooks to prevent Banicki 's takedown attempt.
Ramos is trying to maintain a safe position but Banicki gets an underhook and turns Ramos into the cage. Banicki changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ramos fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bryson Ramos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mariusz Banicki . Ramos moves in looking to clinch but Banicki pushes him off. Excellent takedown into side control there by Banicki . Banicki working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ramos can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banicki tries for a kimura but Ramos is defending well. Banicki trying to control the position but Ramos is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ramos struggling a bit here. Banicki is looking to take a break and control but Ramos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Banicki tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Banicki has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Banicki trying to control the action but Ramos is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Banicki working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Ramos manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Ramos is stalling here. Banicki is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ramos seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Banicki has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Ramos is pushing Banicki 's head away, looking to escape. Banicki manages to hold on to the position though. Banicki wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ramos, who protects the arm well. Banicki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Both fighters take a look at the clock. Banicki controls the position from side control. Ramos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Banicki on the ground. Banicki is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ramos is trying to escape and Banicki transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ramos is forced to tap! Nice work there by Banicki ! Very nice indeed!
