Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Louis Capet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Ruiz Zafon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Louis Capet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Ruiz Zafon!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zafon looks to land a combination. Capet sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Capet thows a left - swing and a miss!

Capet gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
A frustrated look appears on Zafon's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Capet has Zafon pressed against the ropes, preventing Zafon from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Capet escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Capet misses with a jab, cross combination.
Zafon throws a right and a left that both miss.

Capet clinches up with Zafon and pushes him back against the ropes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows.

Capet decides to pull guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zafon wants to stand but Capet is controlling his posture from full guard.

Capet is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Zafon defends well.
Capet trying to keep a closed guard but Zafon is proving a slippery customer.
Zafon wants to stand and escape but instead Capet has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Zafon wants to stand and escape but Capet is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Capet pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zafon is keeping the position for now.
Capet sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Zafon wants to stand and escape but Capet is having none of it.
Capet loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Zafon wants to get back to his feet but Capet is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Capet pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zafon is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Capet accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Capet showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Zafon.
A head kick from Capet lands but Zafon takes it in his stride.

Capet pushes Zafon up against the ropes in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Capet is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Zafon to keep the fight standing.
Capet drops down looking for an ankle pick but Zafon pulls his leg out and moves away.

Capet shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zafon napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Capet working the body and head with strikes.
Zafon stops Capet from passing to mount.
Zafon is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Capet asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Capet tries to advance to mount but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louis Capet dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Capet clinches up against the ropes.
Zafon tries to break free but Capet pushes him back against the ropes.

Capet breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zafon avoids the head kick by Capet.
Zafon falls off balance throwing a combination

and Capet counters with a single leg into guard. Zafon didn't expect that.

Zafon scrambles and gets back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Capet ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A punch combination from Capet misses.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Zafon wants to break the clinch but can't.
Capet is looking for a takedown.
Zafon working hard to break the clinch.
Capet is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Zafon can do to turn this around?

Capet breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Capet throws a sloppy head kick and Zafon moves out of range easily.
Capet ducks under a wild hook from Zafon.
Capet misses with a looping left.
Capet shoots in but no luck this time.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zafon. Capet does a little dance to reset his feet.
Capet went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Zafon gets tackled into the ropes by Capet. Capet maintains the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Capet is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Zafon is defending well for now.
Zafon wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Capet has him pressed against the ropes.
Capet changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zafon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Louis Capet. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A combination from Zafon does no damage.
Zafon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Capet is looking for a counter combo.
Capet tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Zafon counters with a straight right hand.
Zafon thows a left - swing and a miss!
Capet misses with an attempted mid kick.

Capet is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Zafon's half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Zafon looks like he's trying to stand up.

Zafon tries to kick Capet off in order to stand up. Capet Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Capet is chipping away with strikes.
Zafon managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Capet.
Zafon is trying to buck Capet off.
Capet is looking to take a break and control but Zafon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Capet is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zafon is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Zafon is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Capet is controlling him well.
Capet is trying to move to mount but Zafon reverses beautifully and ends up in Capet's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Capet is on top in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Louis Capet will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Capet throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A little jabbing left from Zafon on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Capet bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Capet tries to advance to mount but Zafon denies him.
Zafon wants to get back to his feet.
Zafon is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Capet trying to control the position but Zafon is working away.
Zafon wants to get back to his feet but Capet is dominant here and he's now got Zafon's back!

Capet has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Capet struggling to keep hold of the position.
Zafon is trying to get back to his feet but Capet has full control of the position and if anything, Zafon has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Capet biding his time, controlling Zafon.

Capet is punishing Zafon with strikes - can he finish him?!
Capet lands a shot to the body.
What can Zafon do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Capet is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Zafon is defending well though. Capet let's go of the attempt for now.
Carlos Ruiz Zafon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Zafon is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Capet gets his way!
Zafon is trying to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Capet has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Zafon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Capet lands with a hammerfist to the side of Zafon's head.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Capet has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Zafon's body.
Zafon is trying to get back to his feet but Capet has full control of the position and if anything, Zafon has just worked his way into a worse spot.

And that's the end of the fight!
Louis Capet showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Capet, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
