Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evan Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Hammar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Hammar has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Evan Thomas's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Evan Thomas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Hammar! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hammar throws a leg kick that is checked and Thomas counters with a nice double leg into guard. Thomas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Thomas passes easily into side control. Nice work. Thomas taking a breather here. Hammar is looking to reverse the position. Thomas taking a breather here. Hammar is looking for a sweep. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thomas controls the position. Thomas misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas taking a breather here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hammar can do anything to dispel that myth. Hammar tries to bench press Thomas off him but Thomas keeps the position. Thomas happy to just control the position for now. Thomas's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Thomas creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Thomas is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Hammar's shoulder. That is not cool. Thomas looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thomas tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Hammar managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Thomas.
Thomas remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Thomas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Thomas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Thomas tries to advance to mount but Hammar denies him. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas moves into full mount! Thomas controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Thomas cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammar defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Thomas. Thomas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Thomas scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Hammar?

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Evan Thomas dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Thomas has Hammar pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Thomas pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Hammar tumbling to the mat - Thomas dives into Hammar's guard. Thomas scoring with some ground and pound. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hammar pulls Thomas in close to his closed guard and prevents Thomas from doing any damage or advancing position. Let's hope that Hammar has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Hammar is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Thomas defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thomas content to stall in guard here. Thomas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but Hammar is retaining full guard. Thomas not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Hammar takes a swing at Thomas's ribcage but misses. Thomas attempts a counter takedown but Hammar avoids it well and moves away. Hammar tries a head kick but it misses.
Thomas feinted with a counter takedown. Hammar moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
It looks like Evan Thomas has been cut. Hammar tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thomas was well out of range. Poor timing from Hammar. Hammar's coach down at A Hero's Journey: MMA Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hammar's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Hammar throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Thomas attempts a counter takedown but Hammar avoids it well and moves away. Hammar lands a nice leg kick that just misses Thomas's sensitive parts. Hammar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Thomas. Thomas gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hammar counters with a big head kick but Thomas shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thomas misses with a takedown attempt - Hammar sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Hammar fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Thomas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Crunch! Hammar slams his shin into Thomas's torso. A kick lands to the mid section there for Hammar. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Hammar explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Hammar tries to close the distance and clinch but Thomas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Thomas uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hammar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hammar lands with a kick to the ribs.
Nice uppercut there from Hammar. Hammar fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Hammar bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Hammar scores with a jab. Thomas acknowledges it with a nod of the head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hammar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thomas changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Hammar scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Hammar doesn't manage to clinch there - Thomas circles away.

Frank Hammar showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Evan Thomas's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Thomas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Hammar lands a body shot.

Evan Thomas's cut is getting worse. Thomas walks straight into a right hand from Hammar - that's dropped him! Hammar jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Thomas from any more punishment! Thomas complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Frank Hammar! A very excited looking Frank Hammar made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
