The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thiel is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Richards stuffs the takedown attempt from Thiel. Thiel gets slowly back to his feet.
Thiel is looking to clinch but Richards is avoiding it.

Richards shoots in looking for a takedown. Thiel tries to sprawl out of it but Richards keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thiel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Richards throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Thiel shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Thiel was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Richards tries to buck Thiel off but he can't manage it.

Thiel has hold of Richards's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Richards manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Thiel has control of Richards's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Richards regains control of the situation pretty easily.
