Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arthur Schopenhauer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wybrant De Houtman!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Schopenhauer shoots for a takedown but De Houtman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
De Houtman tries to counter with a clinch but Schopenhauer shakes him off and moves away.
De Houtman misses with a left hand

and Schopenhauer counters with a single leg into guard. De Houtman didn't expect that.
Schopenhauer not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Schopenhauer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
De Houtman looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Schopenhauer works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Schopenhauer looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
We've been hearing good reports from Schopenhauer's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Schopenhauer is trying to control the action in half guard but De Houtman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Schopenhauer tries to pass the half guard into mount. De Houtman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
De Houtman is looking to improve his position.

Schopenhauer is working for a kimura but De Houtman is defending it quite comfortably.
De Houtman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schopenhauer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
De Houtman is looking for a sweep. Schopenhauer is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

De Houtman is defending against the submission attempts here by Schopenhauer.
De Houtman wants to improve his position but Schopenhauer is controlling well.

Schopenhauer in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. De Houtman tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Schopenhauer!
