Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Danny Mcmahon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogelio Rogelio!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcmahon digs a good hook to Rogelio's body.

Rogelio has Mcmahon up against the cage in a clinch.

Mcmahon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Some wild striking there from Mcmahon.

Rogelio shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Mcmahon pushes Rogelio off and gets back to his feet.

Rogelio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rogelio lands in his opponent's guard.

Mcmahon has his feet on Rogelio's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rogelio gets a double leg takedown into Mcmahon's guard.

Mcmahon has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Rogelio has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Mcmahon turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Mcmahon manages to end up in side control.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Mcmahon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rogelio to his feet.

Mcmahon feints and as Rogelio raises his hands in defense, Mcmahon changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rogelio is looking to stand up but Mcmahon isn't so interested in that idea.
Mcmahon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mcmahon with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mcmahon stays in close to Rogelio's body and controls the position.

Mcmahon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rogelio has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcmahon has managed to get both his arms back between Rogelio's legs - danger averted.

Mcmahon controls from within his opponent's guard.
Mcmahon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mcmahon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Mcmahon moves into the clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Rogelio is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mcmahon is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rogelio to the mat. Rogelio regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Mcmahon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rogelio has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mcmahon has passed into side control.

Mcmahon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rogelio has escaped the position, nice work there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcmahon lands a decent elbow from side control.
Mcmahon working the ground and pound.
Rogelio is letting Mcmahon control him for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcmahon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Rogelio to his feet.

Mcmahon clinches up with Rogelio and pushes him back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Mcmahon dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nice uppercut there from Mcmahon.
Mcmahon's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rogelio under the eye.

Rogelio decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mcmahon has one foot on Rogelio's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Rogelio drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Mcmahon pushes Rogelio off and scrambles back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mcmahon connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Rogelio takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Rogelio closes the distance and clinches.
Mcmahon is struggling to control the position.

Mcmahon breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rogelio closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Rogelio lands in his opponent's guard.

Mcmahon kicks Rogelio off and gets to his feet.

Rogelio fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mcmahon to the ground. Rogelio is now in Mcmahon's guard.

Mcmahon pushes Rogelio off and gets back to his feet.


Mcmahon is rocked!
Mcmahon is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Oh Mcmahon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A head kick by Rogelio misses

and Mcmahon counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rogelio!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mcmahon decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Rogelio fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mcmahon to the ground. Rogelio is now in Mcmahon's guard.

Mcmahon manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Rogelio throws a left and a right that both miss
and Mcmahon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Rogelio is trying to trip Mcmahon. He has hold of a leg but Mcmahon is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rogelio persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Mcmahon manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Mcmahon gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Mcmahon is working for a submission of some sort.

Rogelio Rogelio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Mcmahon gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rogelio to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Mcmahon kicks Rogelio off and gets to his feet.
Mcmahon connects with the punch.

Rogelio has closed the distance and engaged Mcmahon in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mcmahon is trying to trip Rogelio. He has hold of a leg but Rogelio is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Mcmahon persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Mcmahon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Danny Mcmahon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mcmahon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rogelio for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Mcmahon obliges.

Mcmahon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mcmahon stalls.
Mcmahon is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Mcmahon content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Rogelio looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Mcmahon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
