Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
punhetas has Machida up against the cage in a clinch.
Machida looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
punhetas tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Machida just stands there and leans against the cage.
Machida manages to pull guard.
punhetas trying to control but Machida is working from the bottom.
punhetas wants to get up but he can't break Machida's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
punhetas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Machida looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
punhetas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Machida manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now punhetas has Machida in his guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Machida accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Machida controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
punhetas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Machida is one step ahead there.
punhetas looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Machida has picked punhetas up and slammed him! punhetas can't keep hold of the triangle and Machida manages to pass to side control!

Machida decides to take the fight back to the feet.

punhetas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Machida is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Machida had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. punhetas is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Machida Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take punhetas's back instead.

punhetas tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

punhetas wants to hold on but Machida pushes him away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Sena Machida will probably get the nod.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sena Machida.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Machida, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
