The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Longson clinches up against the cage. Longson lands a knee to the body.
Longson pulls guard effortlessly. Longson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Longson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Beasley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Beasley sitting in guard here, content to control. Longson is trying to keep Beasley in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Longson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Beasley is one step ahead there. Longson looking for subs off his back but Beasley has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Beasley lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Longson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Longson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Longson is trying to control but Beasley passes into side control!
Beasley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Longson on the ground. Longson wants to get back to his feet but Beasley drags him back down. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Longson is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Longson struggling a bit here. Beasley in side control, just content to control the action for now. Beasley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Longson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Beasley wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beasley is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Longson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Longson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Beasley manages to mount him!
Longson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Longson wants to control but Beasley is keeping busy.

That was a close round but I would say that Terrence Beasley will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Longson tries to throw a body punch but Beasley avoids it by throwing Longson back against the cage. Beasley displaying some good clinch control by pressing Longson up against the cage. Beasley is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Longson is defending well. Beasley jumps into guard, dragging Longson to the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Longson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Beasley sees it coming and defends easily. Longson seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Beasley is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
