Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josh Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sanjay Singh!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Singh throws out a loose jab but Barnett uses good head movement to avoid it.
Singh thows a left - swing and a miss!
Singh misses with a low kick.

Singh closes the distance and pushes Barnett back into the cage.
Barnett is looking for a takedown.
Singh is trying to break free.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Barnett works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Barnett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Singh pulls Barnett in to control the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Singh fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Barnett tries to counter with a takedown but Singh is quick to defend against it.

and Barnett counters with a nice double leg into side control. Singh won't be happy with that.

Singh sneaks out the side door and pushes Barnett away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

It looks like Josh Barnett has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Barnett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Singh swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Singh. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Singh wants to stand and escape but Barnett is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barnett lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Barnett looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Singh is avoiding damage well.

Barnett is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Singh has escaped the position, nice work there.
You can see the frustration on Singh's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Barnett is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Barnett seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Singh does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Barnett looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Singh makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Singh.

Singh wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Barnett manages to pass to side control.

Barnett winds up and cracks Singh with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Barnett is trying for a kimura here. Singh looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Barnett wins by kimura!
