The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Marquez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hunter to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hunter with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

It looks like Avery Marquez has been cut.
Hunter stays in close to Marquez's body and controls the position.
Marquez tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Marquez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Marquez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hunter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Hunter stands up from guard. Let's bang!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hunter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunter forces his way into half guard.
Hunter is taking a breather. Marquez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marquez is in trouble now - Hunter has advanced to mount!
Hunter looking to control and managing it successfully.
Marquez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hunter on the ground.
Hunter won't let Marquez get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Avery Marquez's cut is getting worse.
Hunter takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hunter drops a big elbow. That's hurt Marquez! More shots from Hunter and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
