Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jude Mathis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jhon Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jhon Connor will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jude Mathis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jhon Connor! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Connor shoots in looking for a takedown. Mathis tries to sprawl out of it but Connor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mathis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Mathis throws a big counter combination but Connor scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Connor drops Mathis with a beautiful combination! Mathis stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Connor is looking for the KO!
It looks like Jude Mathis has been cut. Connor gets in close and instigates a clinch. Mathis throws a knee to the head but misses.
Mathis gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Connor regains guard.
Mathis really is a fat lump. This has been an exciting period of action! A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Mathis accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Mathis drops back, looking for a kneebar! Connor looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Connor looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Connor!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mathis bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Connor moves into range and clinches up with Mathis. Mathis is trying to pull guard but Connor turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Mathis drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mathis jumps guard but Connor turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jude Mathis. That's going to take a lot out of him. Connor jumps into guard, dragging Mathis to the mat.
Mathis decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Connor, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor shoots for a takedown but Mathis saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mathis appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Connor takes the fight into the clinch. Mathis is pressed up against the cage. Connor has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mathis down to the mat. Mathis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Connor clinches up with Mathis and pushes him back against the cage. Mathis doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Connor manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mathis stands up and waves to Connor to follow him. Mathis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Connor, pushing him back against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Connor pulls guard effortlessly. Mathis wants to stand and escape but instead Connor has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Mathis trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Mathis has his foot on Connor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Connor works his way back into a safe position though. Connor is looking to work some ground and pound but Mathis has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Connor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mathis is keeping the position for now. Mathis not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Connor with a flurry of punches that miss. Connor wants to control from the top but Mathis keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Connor throws a strike but Mathis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Mathis trying to control the position from guard on top but Connor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mathis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Connor is proving hard to escape from. Connor trying to strike off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jhon Connor dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jude Mathis's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mathis blocks a head kick by Connor.
Mathis drops down looking for a counter takedown but Connor sprawls and moves away. Connor has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mathis is landing a low percentage of strikes. Connor misses with a head kick.
Mathis takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

A jab from Mathis does it's job there. Connor misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Connor tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mathis defends well and Connor ends up having to push Mathis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Mathis tries to counter with a takedown but Connor is quick to defend against it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Connor throws a solid leg kick but Mathis takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Connor. Connor misses with a body kick. Connor misses with a low kick.

Connor pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jhon Connor seems to be getting the better of the standup. The fight stays on the outside here - Connor looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mathis feinted with a counter takedown. Connor fails to land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Connor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mathis paws at him with a jab and circles away. Mathis attempts a counter takedown but Connor avoids it well and moves away. Connor fails with the takedown. Mathis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Connor.
Mathis seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Connor throws a head kick that misses. Connor displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Connor throws a lazy head kick and Mathis counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Connor kicks off Mathis and gets to his feet. Connor is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mathis takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Connor is trying to push Mathis away but Mathis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Mathis jumps guard but Connor stands there with Mathis around his waist. Mathis gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mathis lands an elbow inside. Connor looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Mathis tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Mathis throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Connor blocks it with crossed arms. Mathis is trying to pull guard but Connor turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Connor looks to throw a body kick and Mathis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Connor's guard. Mathis wants to stand but Connor is controlling his posture from full guard. Connor wants to stand and escape but Mathis is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mathis stands up from guard. Let's bang! Connor lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Connor. Connor shoots in but no luck this time. Mathis half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Connor. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mathis is looking for a triangle but Connor pushes his legs off easily.
Mathis wants to stand but Connor is controlling the position. Connor stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mathis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Connor is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Mathis is trying to control the position but Connor postures up. Connor throws an elbow that misses. Mathis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Connor's guard. Nice move by Mathis!

Connor throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Mathis attempts a counter takedown but Connor avoids it well and moves away. Mathis closes the distance and clinches. Connor just stands there and leans against the cage. Connor jumps guard but Mathis turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Jude Mathis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jhon Connor. Mathis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Connor pulls him back up using the underhooks. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jude Mathis. I think Connor has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
