The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jakovlev throws a right and a left that both miss.
Jakovlev misses with a wild body shot.
Jakovlev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jager manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jakovlev sets himself, and Jager steps forward looking for the clinch! Jakovlev avoids it this time.
Jakovlev thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jakovlev works over Jager's head and body with a nice combination.
Jager feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Jakovlev is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Jager has his hands clasped together but Jakovlev extends and breaks Jager's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jakovlev.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Petr Jakovlev!
Petr Jakovlev tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
