Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kalju Kulli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kalju Kulli! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Harris! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kulli's waist but Kulli gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Harris off to one side. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Harris. Kulli throws a sloppy head kick enabling Harris to counter with a crisp jab. Harris with a lazy takedown attempt and Kulli counters with a nice uppercut. Kalju Kulli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Harris. Harris tries for a takedown but Kulli sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Harris shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kulli but Kulli pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kulli keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kulli misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kulli gets a clinch. Kulli has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Harris avoiding damage as Kulli throws knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head punch on the inside from Kulli fails to land. Kulli fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

That's one minute gone in the round. Harris is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. Kulli misses with a punch to the body.

Kulli lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Harris backwards. A nice left hand lands by Kulli.
Come on Kulli - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Harris is looking for a takedown up against the ropes. Kulli gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. The referee calls for Kulli to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kulli lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes. Harris manages to break the clinch.

and Harris makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Harris shoots in for a takedown but Kulli shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Harris shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kulli defends it nicely. Kulli throws a body kick that misses. Kulli lands a head kick!
Kulli lands a lovely overhand right. Harris misses with a takedown attempt - Kulli sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Kulli. Kulli throws a right hand that Harris ducks under and follows up with a left that Harris also avoids with ease. Harris fails with a takedown attempt. Kulli fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Harris! But no joy. Kulli tries to bum rush Harris with a series of wild strikes but Harris uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Harris has a takedown stuffed. Jab by Kulli. Kulli displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Harris. It looked like Kulli wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Harris shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kulli pinned against the ropes. Kulli gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kulli throws a head kick but Harris moves out of range.
Kulli slaps away a takedown attempt from Harris, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hector Harris seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kulli misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Harris shoots in looking for a takedown but Kulli manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Harris's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Harris looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice body kick from Kulli. Kulli pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Good shot there by Kulli. Kulli cracks Harris with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kulli - that will leave a mark!
Harris closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kalju Kulli dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Harris shoots in and drives through. Kulli sprawls well. Harris goes for a double leg but Kulli avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Kulli continues to drive forward. Kulli tried to counter with a leg kick but Harris avoided it. Harris takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Harris is rocked! Kulli throws a head kick that misses. Harris is still on wobbly legs! Can Kulli finish him? A head kick misses from Kulli. Harris seems to have recovered his senses. Kulli throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Harris shoots for a takedown but Kulli saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Kalju Kulli has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Harris. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Harris is defended easily by Kulli. Harris keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Kulli paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris dives in and grabs Kulli's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kulli pushes down on Harris's head and hops out. Harris is breathing heavily. Kulli scores with a takedown into Harris's guard. Harris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kulli working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kulli throwing strikes but missing. Kulli stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Harris swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kulli is working hard here to advance position. That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Harris is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Kulli is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kulli works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kulli throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kulli takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Harris regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Kulli. Kulli wants to pass the guard but Harris is keeping the position. Kulli has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kulli wants to control from the top but Harris keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kulli controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Kulli postures up.
Kulli throws a strike but Harris rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Kulli throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Kulli striking off his back but it's not causing Harris any problems. Harris is posturing up here but Kulli has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Harris tries to roll out but it's too tight and Harris has to tap! Slick submission there by Kulli!
