Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Neal Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Little Rick!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Diaz wants it to stay on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Diaz looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rick tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Rick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Rick might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Diaz haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Rick got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Rick has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.

That was a close round but I would say that Neal Diaz will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Diaz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rick sprawls well initially but Diaz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Diaz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rick can do to turn this around?

Diaz drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rick manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Diaz has Rick in his guard.
