The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Light swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Maanpohja counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maanpohja.
Light has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Maanpohja has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Light gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Maanpohja.
Maanpohja wants a takedown but no success here.
Light scores with a hook to the body.
Maanpohja tries to score a body lock takedown but Light shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Johannes Maanpohja. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Light is fighting off a takedown attempt but Maanpohja is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Light to the mat. Light regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Maanpohja has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Light wants to get back to his feet but Maanpohja is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Maanpohja throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Light works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Maanpohja slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Maanpohja drops back looking for a leg! Light is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Light manages to kick Maanpohja off! Maanpohja jumps back into Light's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Light is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Maanpohja is controlling him.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Maanpohja changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Light tries to avoid it but Maanpohja manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Light to the ground. Light escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Maanpohja uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Light.
Maanpohja has managed to clinch.
Maanpohja drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Light gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Light is pressed up against the cage. Maanpohja has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Light down to the mat. Light avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Maanpohja closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Light did well to prevent Maanpohja getting side control.
Maanpohja is working for a kimura but Light is defending it quite comfortably.
Maanpohja is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Light is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
