Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Milton Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carly Sarmiento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sarmiento has chosen Bodies as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Milton Cooper has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Milton Cooper seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Milton Cooper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carly Sarmiento! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sarmiento looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Cooper is fending him off so far but Sarmiento persists. Nope, Cooper circles away and we're back to standing. Sarmiento moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Sarmiento throws a series of punches but Cooper avoids them all with ease. Cooper gets in close and instigates a clinch. Sarmiento is trying to break the clinch but Cooper is controlling him. Sarmiento can't break the clinch.
Cooper dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Cooper tries to land a knee to the head but Sarmiento blocks with his arms.
Sarmiento pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sarmiento throws a series of punches but Cooper avoids them all with ease. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cooper is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sarmiento's half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sarmiento has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Cooper is on him like a limpet, forcing Sarmiento back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sarmiento letting Cooper take a breather here. Sarmiento is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Cooper throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Sarmiento blocks it with crossed arms. Cooper misses with a knee to the head. Cooper keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sarmiento's efforts to push away. Sarmiento wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Sarmiento's coach down at Atlas MMA Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Sarmiento's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Cooper keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sarmiento's efforts to push away.

Sarmiento wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cooper has him pressed against the cage. Sarmiento misses with a hook from the clinch. Cooper has Sarmiento pushed against the cage. Sarmiento letting Cooper take a breather here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Milton Cooper will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cooper's face. Cooper staggers backwards, shaken. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cooper decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sarmiento, up you get! Cooper with a poor takedown and Sarmiento counters with a straight right hand. Carly Sarmiento is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cooper shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sarmiento's guard. Cooper prevents Sarmiento from breaking the clinch. Cooper jerks Sarmiento's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Sarmiento drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Cooper goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Cooper because Sarmiento was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
