Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gregory Campion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trey Goodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregory Campion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Trey Goodman!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goodman takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


It looks like Gregory Campion has been cut.
Goodman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Campion.
Campion looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Campion throws a one two combo.
Campion throws a series of punches but Goodman avoids them all with ease.
Goodman lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Campion fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Campion fails to land with a series of punches.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Goodman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
The fighters circling - Goodman throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Goodman loads up on a big right hand but Campion slips the punch.
The fighters circle momentarily. Goodman darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Campion has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Goodman finds it's way round the side to connect with Campion's head.
Campion throws a right and a left that both miss.
Goodman throws a series of punches but Campion moves out of range.
Campion closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Campion swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Campion throws a body shot but no joy.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Goodman, as that shot connected.
Goodman lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Campion lands a nice shot to the body.
Campion misses with a wild body shot.
Goodman throws a counter combo.
Campion jabs at Goodman's body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Campion clinches with his opponent.

Campion breaks the clinch.
A combination from Campion does no damage.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Goodman misses with a jab, cross combination.

Goodman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Campion manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Campion manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Goodman swings wildly with an uppercut but Campion uses good head movement to avoid it.
Goodman lands on the inside with an uppercut.


Gregory Campion's cut is getting worse.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Campion breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Goodman lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Campion is looking to close the distance but Goodman sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Campion crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Campion is OK because that was naaaaaasty!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Trey Goodman!
A very excited looking Trey Goodman made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
In defeat, Gregory Campion stepped up to the mic, saying 'Congratulations to my opponent. He was the better man today. Now I go back to training to make sure that I'm the better man tomorrow. Thanks to the fans for all of their support.'.
