Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rodney Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Byrne!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byrne lands with a cross.
Byrne takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Byrne keeps the fight on the outside.
A little jabbing left from Byrne on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Garcia thows a leg kick but Byrne checks it
and Byrne counters with a low kick, right behind Garcia 's knee.
Byrne connects with a leg kick. Garcia looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Garcia definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Garcia slips a straight right by Byrne.
An attempted straight right counter from Garcia misses the target.
Garcia misses with a jab to the body
and Byrne counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Byrne throws a leg kick but Garcia moved away.
Garcia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Byrne moves away.
Garcia takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Garcia is looking to score with low kicks.
Byrne misses the jab.
Garcia swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Byrne is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Byrne lands a leg kick that knocks Garcia off balance momentarily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Garcia misses with a body shot
and Byrne counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Garcia with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Garcia on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Danga de danga de dang - Byrne scores with a four punch combination!

Garcia ducks under a wild hook from Byrne.
Nice body kick there by Byrne.
Garcia ducks right into an uppercut from Byrne.
A punch lands to the side of Garcia 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Byrne has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Garcia dodges the punch combination from Byrne.
Byrne throws an overhand right that lands on Garcia's shoulder, as Garcia tries to avoid the shot.
Garcia looks to land a body kick but Byrne moved away.
Garcia paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Byrne jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Garcia loads up on a big right hand but Byrne slips the punch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Garcia walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Garcia doesn't manage to clinch there - Byrne circles away.

Byrne lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Garcia takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Garcia shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Garcia motions for Byrne to come forward. Garcia throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Garcia lands with a nice body punch.

Garcia takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Byrne connects with a leg kick. Garcia looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Garcia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Byrne moves away.
Byrne is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Garcia had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Garcia throws a body shot but no joy.
Rodney Garcia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garcia throws out a leg kick but Byrne moves out of range and Garcia only half commits.

Byrne scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Garcia checks a low kick from Byrne.
Some bone on bone action there as Garcia checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Garcia tries to land a front kick but Byrne steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Byrne scores with a crisp jab that stopped Garcia in his tracks.
Byrne avoids a kick to the body.
Byrne lands with a straight right. Garcia didn't see that one coming.

A head kick misses from Byrne.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Byrne connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Byrne scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Byrne throws a jab but it's blocked by Garcia.
Byrne throws a leg kick which misses Garcia's front leg but catches the back leg as Garcia tries to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Garcia with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Garcia looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Byrne throws a push kick but Garcia slaps the foot to one side.
Garcia takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Garcia is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Garcia pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Byrne wants to land a leg kick but Garcia is out of range.
Garcia does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and Byrne cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Byrne is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Garcia tries to land a front kick but Byrne steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Garcia dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Byrne. That did some damage!
Nice uppercut lands for Byrne. That snapped Garcia's head back.
Byrne throws a series of punches but Garcia moves out of range.
Byrne checks a leg kick.
Byrne moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Byrne will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Matt Byrne is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Byrne moves out of range as Garcia strikes.
Byrne chopping away at his opponent's legs.
The fighters circling - Garcia throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Garcia misses with a right hand
and Byrne counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Garcia thinking.
Byrne thows a left - swing and a miss!
Byrne shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Garcia tries to work over Byrne's front leg with a kick but Byrne checks it.

Matt Byrne seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Byrne throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Garcia's head.
Garcia on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Garcia just misses with a punch to the body.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Garcia might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Byrne counters with a stiff right hand.
Garcia gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A jab from Byrne does it's job there.


Garcia is rocked!
Byrne ducks down into range and throws a picture perfect right hook that connects with Garcia's jaw. Garcia's eyes stare off into space as he falls to the mat, out cold! Byrne does the decent thing and steps back, rather than landing any shots to his unconscious opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Matt Byrne!
Matt Byrne decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
