Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Antti Kivinkoski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Riviera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kivinkoski comes to the cage accompanied by Jon Lajoie - Show Me Your Genitals. Riviera has chosen Dirty hous' - Rohff as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Antti Kivinkoski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cain Riviera!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kivinkoski misses with a takedown attempt - Riviera sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Riviera shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Kivinkoski is refusing to be controlled, as Riviera sits in half guard.

Kivinkoski looking for submissions off his back.
Riviera is pressing down on Kivinkoski's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kivinkoski is holding on for now.
Kivinkoski is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Riviera scores with a couple of nice shots.

Kivinkoski is looking to escape.
Riviera wants to take a breather but Kivinkoski is having none of it.
Riviera stalling away here and it's allowed Kivinkoski to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Riviera wants to control from the top but Kivinkoski keeps moving.
Riviera is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Riviera trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Riviera is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Riviera is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kivinkoski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kivinkoski has escaped and now he's on top!

Kivinkoski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Riviera pulls Kivinkoski in close to prevent any damage.

Kivinkoski is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kivinkoski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Riviera is looking to stand up but Kivinkoski isn't so interested in that idea.
Riviera has Kivinkoski pulled in close to control his posture.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kivinkoski won't allow Riviera to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Kivinkoski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Riviera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Riviera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Riviera lands a couple of elbows.

Kivinkoski keeping moving, preventing Riviera from controlling successfully.
Riviera must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cain Riviera just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Riviera counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kivinkoski thinking.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Riviera throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Riviera fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kivinkoski checks it well.
Riviera throws a right and a left that Kivinkoski avoids nicely.

Kivinkoski looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Riviera wants to improve his position but Kivinkoski is controlling well.
Riviera gets back to full guard.
Kivinkoski wants to stand but Riviera is controlling his posture from full guard.

Riviera has his feet on Kivinkoski's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Riviera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kivinkoski to the mat! Kivinkoski manages to get full guard.

Riviera sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Riviera makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Riviera seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Riviera is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Cain Riviera showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Kivinkoski moves out of range of the body kick from Riviera.
Kivinkoski fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Riviera.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Riviera has had enough of the clinch but Kivinkoski keeps him there for the moment.
Riviera tries a knee to the head but Kivinkoski blocks it.

Riviera tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Riviera is trying to break free.
Riviera is trying to break the clinch but Kivinkoski has him pressed against the cage.

Riviera bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Riviera gets a clinch.
Riviera can't break the clinch.
Riviera tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Riviera tries to break the clinch but Kivinkoski is controlling the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kivinkoski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A thudding body kick lands there by Kivinkoski!
Riviera misses with a series of wild punches.
Riviera throws a leg kick

and Kivinkoski counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Riviera's guard now.

Kivinkoski in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Riviera has his hands on Kivinkoski's head, controlling the position.
Kivinkoski prevents Riviera from getting back to his feet.

Riviera is looking for a triangle here but Kivinkoski uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Riviera tries to improve position but can't.
Riviera looking for a sweep but Kivinkoski has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Kivinkoski wants to finish this one by submission but Riviera is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kivinkoski.

Riviera is trying to escape the mount.
Kivinkoski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Kivinkoski moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Riviera has worked his arm free - good work by Riviera!
Cain Riviera is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Riviera is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Kivinkoski asserts his dominance and retains side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Antti Kivinkoski showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Riviera has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
