Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carney Duffy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy McLarnin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duffy comes to the cage accompanied by Brawl - Bloody spit. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carney Duffy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy McLarnin! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duffy takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. The crowd cheers as Duffy lands an impressive looking overhand right. McLarnin doesn't seem phased though. Duffy thumps McLarnin with a low kick. Duffy misses with a kick to the body.
Duffy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McLarnin.
McLarnin takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. McLarnin has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from McLarnin there as he acknowledges the shot.
McLarnin is rocked! A solid leg kick lands there for Duffy.
McLarnin is still on wobbly legs! Can Duffy finish him? Duffy throws a lazy right hand but McLarnin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Duffy moves to clinch but McLarnin breaks away and Duffy takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. McLarnin seems to have recovered his senses. A leg kick checked by McLarnin. McLarnin looks like he wants to counter punch here. A big right from McLarnin misses. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Duffy turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Duffy lands a big uppercut and McLarnin crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but McLarnin looks OK. Duffy waves McLarnin back to his feet! Duffy misses with an uppercut. McLarnin saw that one coming. McLarnin is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. A chopping leg kick lands by Duffy. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that McLarnin has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. This has been an exciting period of action! Duffy tries to clinch but McLarnin moves out of range. Duffy throws a lazy head kick and McLarnin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Duffy won't be happy with that. McLarnin working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McLarnin happy to just control the position for now. Duffy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Duffy tries to get out of the position. McLarnin creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Duffy sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. We've been hearing good reports from Duffy's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLarnin tries for a kimura but Duffy is defending well. Duffy struggling a bit here. Duffy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McLarnin on the ground. Duffy is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because McLarnin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Duffy is looking to work his way out of this bad position but McLarnin is controlling him well. Duffy is letting McLarnin control him for a moment.

Duffy tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McLarnin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. McLarnin cracks Duffy with a big right hand but Duffy just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. A punch lands to the side of Duffy 's head but he takes it in his stride. Duffy dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McLarnin. That did some damage! Duffy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McLarnin. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carney Duffy dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Duffy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McLarnin can do to turn this around? No joy there for Duffy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

McLarnin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Duffy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. McLarnin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Duffy throws a lazy right hand but McLarnin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Duffy lands a big head kick that sends McLarnin tumbling to the mat! Duffy takes a step backwards and waves McLarnin back to his feet - he wants the finish! McLarnin defending well as Duffy loads up on a big left hand. McLarnin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Duffy looks to clinch and McLarnin counters with a stiff right hand. McLarnin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Duffy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Duffy lands a jab to McLarnin's midsection. Duffy fakes the leg kick and cracks McLarnin in the body. Duffy misses with a body shot.
A little jabbing left from McLarnin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Duffy gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Duffy pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A jab from McLarnin does it's job there. Duffy throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and McLarnin counters with a stiff right hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Duffy. No joy for McLarnin on that attempt. Duffy drops his hands momentarily and McLarnin takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Duffy is looking to chop away at McLarnin's legs. Duffy throws a good cross that connects.

Duffy tries to close the distance and clinch up but McLarnin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Duffy takes a swing at McLarnin's ribcage but misses. It seemed like McLarnin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. McLarnin's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Duffy fails in his attempt to clinch. Carney Duffy is winning the standup battle so far. Duffy tries to close the distance and clinch but McLarnin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Duffy swinging wildly here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duffy pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Duffy changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Duffy with a nice cross. McLarnin swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Duffy drops McLarnin with a beautiful combination! McLarnin stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Duffy is looking for the KO! Duffy lands a big right hand that sends McLarnin crashing to the mat! Duffy stays standing though and waves McLarnin back to his feet! Duffy turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. McLarnin throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Duffy takes the fight into the clinch. Duffy misses with some punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Duffy closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Jimmy McLarnin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Duffy prevents the takedown attempt.

McLarnin looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. McLarnin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Duffy lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Duffy throws a series of punches but McLarnin avoids them all with ease. Jimmy McLarnin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Duffy lands a jab to the nose. McLarnin staying out of range there. McLarnin with a lazy takedown attempt and Duffy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Carney Duffy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy McLarnin. This has been an exciting period of action! McLarnin throws a nice looking combination but Duffy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Duffy was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Duffy tries to clinch up. McLarnin on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Duffy throws a body shot but no joy. McLarnin is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. McLarnin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Duffy was well out of range. Poor timing from McLarnin. Duffy throws a nice outside leg kick.
And that's the end of the fight! Carney Duffy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Duffy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
