The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fernando changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Slorg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Slorg should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Fernando is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Slorg is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Fernando controlling from side mount.
Slorg is looking for a sweep.
Fernando just content to control the position.
Fernando's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fernando cracks Slorg with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Slorg is trying to improve his position.

Fernando happy to just control the position for now.
Fernando stands up and beckons Slorg to his feet.
Fernando closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Slorg tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fernando smiles and moves away.
Fernando rushes Slorg and presses him up against the cage.
Slorg is looking for a takedown.
Fernando has picked Slorg up - he's going for a ride! Fernando dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Fernando is looking for a kimura here.

Fernando seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Fernando looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fernando in particular looking to stall.
Fernando looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Fernando landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fernando is thwarting Slorg's attempts to control the position.
Fernando stalling.

Fernando lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Fernando is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fernando is taking a breather. Slorg says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Slorg looks winded!
Fernando looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Slorg with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fernando uses his free foot to push down on Slorg's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Slorg.

Fernando lands a heavy elbow.
Slorg in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Slorg is rocked!
Fernando lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Slorg is still in real trouble! Can Fernando finish him?
Fernando loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Slorg scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Fernando land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Fernando stands and salutes the crowd.
