Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tad Travis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxwell Augustine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Augustine has chosen Cock O' the north as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tad Travis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Maxwell Augustine! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A momentary lapse in concentration from Travis enables Augustine to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Travis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Travis pushes Augustine off and scrambles back to his feet.
Augustine decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Travis wants to control but Augustine is keeping busy.
Travis is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Augustine jumps into side control! Travis really is a fat lump. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Augustine is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Travis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Travis is looking for a sweep. Augustine tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Augustine decides to stand back up. Augustine steps back and let's Travis get back to his feet. Augustine throws a lazy head kick and Travis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Augustine won't be happy with that.
That's one minute gone in the round. Travis working away. Augustine is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Augustine holds on to Travis's head and controls the position momentarily. Travis working away. Augustine is looking for a sweep. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Augustine is trying to work for a sweep but Travis has mounted him! Augustine tries to reverse the position but Travis maintains control. Augustine wants to control but Travis is having none of it. Augustine is in all sorts of trouble here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Augustine bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Augustine won't allow Travis to get back to his feet. Travis looking to control.
Travis thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Travis working a defensive guard here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Augustine scores with a head kick.
Augustine closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Travis throws Augustine to one side and escapes! Augustine looks winded!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Travis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Augustine throws out a counter right but Travis avoids it with no problem. Travis shoots in and gets a takedown into Augustine's guard. Augustine looking to control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Augustine drops back looking for a leg! Travis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Travis manages to kick Augustine off! Augustine jumps back into Travis's guard. Travis has his foot on Augustine's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Augustine works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Tad Travis will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Augustine shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Travis eats them both and turns towards Augustine to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Travis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Augustine to the mat! Augustine manages to get full guard. Augustine is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Travis dives into side control.
Augustine tries to bench press Travis off him but Travis keeps the position. Augustine parries the strikes from Travis easily there. Travis is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Augustine to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Augustine is trying to control Travis's posture but Travis avoids it. Augustine is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Augustine is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Travis's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Augustine is trying to get back to full guard. Augustine trying to control from the bottom.
Augustine makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Augustine. Augustine pulls Travis in to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Travis is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Travis trying to control but Augustine is working from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Travis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Augustine napping and manages to drive through into side control! Tad Travis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Travis working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Augustine is looking to reverse the position. Travis creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Augustine wants to control but Travis postures up. Augustine is looking to regain half guard here but Travis keeps moving and retains side control. Augustine is breathing heavily. The referee asks Travis politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Travis prefers to stall for the moment though.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Augustine decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Travis wants to improve his position but Augustine is controlling well.
Augustine is pressing down on Travis's thigh, looking to free his foot. Travis is holding on for now. Augustine wants to work for an arm triangle but Travis is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Travis has his hands clasped together around Augustine's back. He's all about the action. Travis flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Augustine is looking for a kimura here.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tad Travis will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Augustine drives through with a takedown into Travis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Augustine drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Augustine jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Travis might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Travis controls Augustine momentarily but Augustine frees himself. Augustine wants to get up but he can't break Travis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Travis trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Travis throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Augustine thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Augustine won't allow Travis to get back to his feet. Augustine is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Augustine takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Augustine drops back looking for a leg! Travis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Travis manages to kick Augustine off! Augustine jumps back into Travis's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Travis striking off his back but it's not causing Augustine any problems.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Travis looks to land a combination but Augustine avoids it well. Travis darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Travis in particular looking to stall. Augustine wants to improve his position but Travis is controlling well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Augustine is trying to control but Travis manages to pass to mount!
Travis controlling from the full mount. Travis seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Augustine is holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Travis working away from the top, dropping strikes. Augustine is looking to get to half guard. Travis sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Travis thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Augustine is trying desperately to improve position. Travis throwing strikes here but Augustine is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Travis content just to control the position here. Maxwell Augustine has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Tad Travis is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Travis prevents Augustine from getting the reversal.
And that's the end of the fight! Tad Travis showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Travis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
