Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Perry Beach (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James O Neill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perry Beach has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Perry Beach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James O Neill ! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Beach or perhaps it was just good defense by O Neill , which made it look bad. O Neill looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Beach tries to keep at a distance but O Neill has taken the fight into the clinch. O Neill keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Beach's efforts to push away. Beach breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
O Neill stuffs the takedown attempt from Beach. Beach gets slowly back to his feet. A little jabbing left from O Neill on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Beach feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Beach throwing strikes from guard but O Neill blocks nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Beach controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beach stands up and waves to O Neill to follow him. No luck for Beach with that takedown attempt. O Neill drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Beach defends it well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Perry Beach. That's going to take a lot out of him. Beach shoots in for a double leg but O Neill sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. O Neill displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Beach shoots in but O Neill avoids the takedown attempt easily. Beach looking to score a takedown here. O Neill is defending well but Beach drives through and ends up in O Neill 's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. O Neill keeping moving, preventing Beach from controlling successfully. O Neill wants to stand up but Beach is controlling him. Beach controls from within his opponent's guard. Beach really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Beach throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Beach postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Beach trying to control but O Neill is working from the bottom. Beach is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Beach tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but O Neill paws at him with a jab and circles away. Beach dodges the punch combination from O Neill .
Beach avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Beach dives in and grabs O Neill 's left leg, looking for a takedown. O Neill pushes down on Beach's head and hops out. Beach shoots in and drives through. O Neill sprawls well. O Neill ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Beach moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Beach defending well as O Neill loads up on a big left hand. Beach wants to clinch but O Neill slips to the side and O Neill counters with a nice double leg into guard. Beach has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. O Neill doesn't defend quickly enough and Beach has managed to lock this one up! Can O Neill escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Beach on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Perry Beach!
