Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hans Gruber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hans Gruber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sam Dean!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Gruber.
Dean throws a half hearted mid kick.
We've been hearing reports that Gruber has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Gruber avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dean gets tackled into the cage by Gruber. Gruber maintains the clinch.
Dean is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Gruber blocks an uppercut.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Dean takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Gruber gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Dean regains guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dean looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Gruber puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Dean is trying to maintain the position but Gruber is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gruber lands a nice short elbow.
Dean felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Gruber has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dean is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dean on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Gruber takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Dean is looking to improve his position.

Gruber is taking a breather. Dean says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dean really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gruber. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Gruber winds up and cracks Dean with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gruber takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gruber scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Dean is rocked!
Gruber passes to full mount!
Dean is still in real trouble! Can Gruber finish him?
Gruber drops a big elbow. That's hurt Dean! More shots from Gruber and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
