Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Graves! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thanasis Kwnstantoulakis! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Graves closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Kwnstantoulakis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Graves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Graves decides to stand back up. Graves steps back and let's Kwnstantoulakis get back to his feet. Thanasis Kwnstantoulakis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Graves drives through with a takedown into Kwnstantoulakis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kwnstantoulakis is looking to stand back up but Graves counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Kwnstantoulakis. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Graves stands up and beckons Kwnstantoulakis to join him on the feet. Kwnstantoulakis scores with a nice head shot. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Graves gets the takedown into side control. Graves has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Kwnstantoulakis misses with a left hand and Graves counters with a shoot takedown. Kwnstantoulakis fights it but they end up in guard. Graves is standing up over Kwnstantoulakis. Kwnstantoulakis looks to escape but Graves dives into side control.
Graves stands up and beckons Kwnstantoulakis to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kwnstantoulakis swinging wildly here.
Kwnstantoulakis lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Graves's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kwnstantoulakis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Graves scrambles back to his feet.
It looks like Frank Graves has been cut. Kwnstantoulakis tries to sprawl but Graves drives through with a takedown into half guard. Kwnstantoulakis wants to stand back up but Graves manages to pass into side control.
Graves decides to take the fight back to the feet. Graves moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Graves is rocked! Graves drops his hands for a split second and Kwnstantoulakis immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Graves face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Kwnstantoulakis follows up with a right hand that knocks Graves into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Thanasis Kwnstantoulakis! Thanasis Kwnstantoulakis bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
