Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Slice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Says (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slice is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Simon Says has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick lands from Says that sends Slice to the canvas. Slice tries to scramble back to his feet but Says brings him back down into side control.
Slice is rocked!
It looks like Johnny Slice has been cut.
Slice is breathing heavily.
Says working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Oh Slice is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Slice wants to get back to his feet but Says drags him back down.
Says thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Says tries for a kimura but Slice is defending well.
Slice pushes Says away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Says gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Says tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Says has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Says dodges the punch combination from Slice.
Says shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Says showed some decent athleticism there.
Says is pressing down on Slice's thigh, looking to free his foot. Slice is holding on for now.
Slice has one foot on Says's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Says shoots for a double leg takedown but Slice sprawls well. He's pushed Says's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Says throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Says changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slice tries to avoid it but Says manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slice to the ground. Slice escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Says throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Says shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Slice as he jumps to the side.

and Slice counters with a good low kick that Says was not able to check.
Slice keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Says counters with a big head kick but Slice shrugs it off.
Says shoots in looking for a takedown. Slice tries to sprawl out of it but Says keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Slice manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnny Slice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simon Says.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
