Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Danjie Mercado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mercado comes to the cage accompanied by Pagsubok. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danjie Mercado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Bob! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mercado's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bob connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mercado scrambles back to his feet. Mercado slips under a jab from Bob. Bob throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mercado counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Mercado stopping the sweep attempt from Bob. Bob being controlled here, momentarily. Mercado with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bob looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mercado is one step ahead there. Mercado has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mercado passes into half guard. Mercado is trying to work for a kimura but Bob is defending well.
Mercado perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Mercado thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bob's head. Mercado wants to work for an arm triangle but Bob is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mercado wants to take a breather but Bob is having none of it. Bob is trying to maintain the position but Mercado is very close to passing his half guard. Mercado tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bob knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mercado prevents Bob from improving his position. Bob gets full guard. Bob not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mercado looking to pass the guard. Bob wants to sweep but no luck. Bob is looking for a triangle but Mercado pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bob is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bob escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mercado gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Mercado wants to control from the top but Bob keeps moving. Mercado pushes down on Bob's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mercado wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bob keeps working. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mercado is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bob has managed to free his arm - good work. Bob is trying to get back to full guard. Mercado is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mercado is looking to advance position but Bob won't allow it. Bob felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Bob is refusing to be controlled, as Mercado sits in half guard. Mercado stops Bob from getting back to his feet.
Mercado trying to control the action but Bob is working from the bottom. Mercado landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Mercado working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Bob is refusing to be controlled, as Mercado sits in half guard. Mercado is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mercado is working for a submission of some sort.
Bob slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Mercado advances position into side control! Bob is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mercado landing strikes. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bob holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Bob is looking to regain half guard here but Mercado keeps moving and retains side control. Mercado trying to control the position but Bob is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danjie Mercado dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mercado bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The fighters circling - Bob throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Bob lands the left hand. Mercado ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mercado half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. No joy there for Bob, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mercado moves out of range of the strikes. Mercado is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bob's half guard. Bob is looking to control Mercado's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bob avoid being mounted? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mercado seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Bob wants to control but Mercado is keeping busy and won't allow it. Mercado is keen to just control but Bob is a slippery customer. Mercado is working for a submission of some sort.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Bob tries to kick Mercado off in order to stand up. Mercado Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bob tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mercado wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mercado landing a few strikes. Mercado goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bob has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mercado but great work by Bob. Bob decides to stand back up. The fighters circling - Bob throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Mercado slips under a jab. Mercado attempts a counter takedown but Bob avoids it well and moves away. Mercado shoots in but no luck this time. Bob misses with the combination.
Bob scores with a jab. Mercado acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed right hand from Bob misses the target. It looked like Mercado was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Bob. Bob misses the jab. Mercado on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bob just misses with a punch to the body.
Mercado tries to counter with a takedown but Bob is quick to defend against it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mercado is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bob's half guard. Bob wants to stand back up but Mercado manages to pass into side control.
Mercado is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bob is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Bob is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mercado is controlling him well. Check out the look on Mercado's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Bob tries to control but Mercado manages to take his back. Mercado is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bob tries to escape but Mercado has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Bob is taking damage to the body and head. Mercado lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Bob hold on?!
Bob is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Mercado off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Mercado working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Mercado is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Bob with him. Bob is trying to defend but Mercado has an arm under the chin now! Bob grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Danjie Mercado! As Danjie Mercado got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Where you at Bruce "Stove Pipe" Armstrong?! Let's get it on man! Champ vs Champ let's go! Eric put this thing together man! '.
