Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Igor Wietrzny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Delphino Atlantis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Wietrzny might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hunter-Fallen. Atlantis has chosen Refused - New Noise as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Igor Wietrzny! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 4 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Delphino Atlantis! The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ben Hemmingworth and Chris Dean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Atlantis gets a clinch. Atlantis turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Wietrzny sneaks back into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Atlantis tries to pass to full mount but Wietrzny defends it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Atlantis is working for a kimura but Wietrzny is defending it quite comfortably.
Wietrzny keeps control of the position for the meantime. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice strikes from Atlantis there. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Atlantis working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atlantis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Wietrzny sees it coming and defends easily. Wietrzny is trying to get back to full guard. Wietrzny preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Atlantis is looking to take a break and control but Wietrzny is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Atlantis thows a huge punch but Wietrzny dodges it nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Still in half guard, Atlantis seems content to control. Atlantis throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Wietrzny blocking the ground and pound attempt from Atlantis. Wietrzny is trying to control but can't.
Atlantis throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Wietrzny to regain full guard. Atlantis works over Wietrzny with some ground and pound from guard. Atlantis is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Atlantis wants to control from the top but Wietrzny keeps moving. Wietrzny preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Atlantis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wietrzny works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Wietrzny seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wietrzny controlling the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Atlantis looks to land a combination but Wietrzny avoids it well. Wietrzny walks forward, straight into a front kick from Atlantis. Atlantis closes the distance and clinches. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Wietrzny stalling.
Atlantis throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Atlantis lands a left hand.
Atlantis has picked Wietrzny up - he's going for a ride! Atlantis dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Wietrzny trying to control from the bottom.
Wietrzny wants to improve his position but Atlantis is controlling well.
Atlantis is trying to control the action in half guard but Wietrzny is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Atlantis sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Wietrzny defending well though. Atlantis wants to control but Wietrzny is keeping him busy. Atlantis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Wietrzny is just riding it out for now. Atlantis eventually gives up the hold. Wietrzny trying to control from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Atlantis is looking to take a break and control but Wietrzny is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wietrzny regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Atlantis. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Atlantis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Atlantis is trying to get an arm triangle but Wietrzny is defending well. Atlantis working the ground and pound. Wietrzny is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Wietrzny is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Atlantis off and has taken his back! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wietrzny controlling the position well here. Atlantis rolled but Wietrzny kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Wietrzny is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Atlantis is defending well though. Wietrzny let's go of the attempt for now. Atlantis wants to get back to his feet. Atlantis trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. Wietrzny patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Wietrzny is trying to stick to Atlantis's back but Atlantis is turning into Wietrzny. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Wietrzny's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Atlantis. Wietrzny is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Atlantis looking to sit in guard and control but Wietrzny gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Atlantis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Wietrzny is aware though and is defending well. Wietrzny controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Atlantis has his foot on Wietrzny's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wietrzny works his way back into a safe position though. Atlantis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Wietrzny wants to control from the top but Atlantis keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wietrzny thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Wietrzny wants to control from the top but Atlantis keeps moving. Wietrzny content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Atlantis has locked up a guillotine! Atlantis's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Wietrzny is holding on here and Atlantis must be using up a lot of energy. Wietrzny has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Atlantis gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
