Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Mayhew! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carlson scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Mayhew tries to kick Carlson off but Carlson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Mayhew trying to control here.
Mayhew tries to roll over but Carlson keeps him under control. Carlson wants to pass the guard but Mayhew is defending well. Carlson wants to stand up but Mayhew is controlling the position.
Carlson is controlling the pace.
Mayhew has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carlson is working away from the top position though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carlson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Carlson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mayhew for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Mayhew pushes Carlson up against the cage in a clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Mayhew lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Carlson manages to escape and get back to his feet! Carlson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mayhew gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mayhew looking for a guillotine here but Carlson defends easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mayhew shoots in and gets a takedown into Carlson's guard. Carlson scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Mayhew stuffs the takedown. Mayhew closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Carlson throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Mayhew looks winded! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Mayhew clinches. Carlson pulls Mayhew into guard.

Carlson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Carlson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mayhew is looking to take a break and control but Carlson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mayhew decides to stand up, so the ref orders Carlson to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mayhew feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Carlson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mayhew presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mayhew has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Carlson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Carlson is trying to shake Mayhew off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Mayhew won't be happy about giving up the dominant position. Carlson goes for a double leg but Mayhew avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mayhew continues to drive forward. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Agustin Carlson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mayhew throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carlson was covering up waiting for the punch and Mayhew finishes the takedown easily into guard. Carlson is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Mayhew presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Mayhew is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carlson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mayhew is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carlson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Mayhew throws a strike but Carlson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Carlson trying to control but Mayhew is working from the bottom. Carlson wanted to stand there but Mayhew had control of the position. Carlson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Carlson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mayhew can do to turn this around? Mayhew not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Carlson stands and steps away. Mayhew gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Mayhew looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Carlson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson wants to take the fight to the mat but Mayhew manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Mayhew has Carlson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Mayhew pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Carlson tumbling to the mat - Mayhew dives into Carlson's guard. Mayhew won't allow Carlson to sweep him here. Carlson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mayhew defends it easily. Carlson has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Mayhew off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mayhew stalks Carlson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Carlson's face. Carlson staggers backwards, shaken. Mayhew pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Mayhew takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. This has been an exciting period of action! A body shot lands from Carlson.

Mayhew must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Carlson looking for a guillotine here but Mayhew defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mayhew trying to control but Carlson is working from the bottom. Mayhew looking to sit in guard and control but Carlson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Carlson is stalling in the full guard. Carlson throws a big right hand that misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carlson looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Mayhew is looking to stand up but Carlson isn't so interested in that idea. Mayhew being controlled here, momentarily. Carlson stands up and waves to Mayhew to follow him. Carlson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mayhew tries to avoid it but Carlson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mayhew to the ground. Mayhew escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Mayhew. Carlson bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carlson tries to keep at a distance but Mayhew has taken the fight into the clinch. Carlson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mayhew gets in close and instigates a clinch. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carlson lands a takedown into guard.
Carlson tries to stand but Mayhew is controlling from the bottom. Mayhew has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carlson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that's the end of the fight! Agustin Carlson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carlson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
