Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mario Barrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darnell Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Mario Barrera has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrera leaves Cane with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Cane looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cane fails with a takedown attempt.

Mario Barrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darnell Cane.
Barrera throws a leg kick which misses Cane's front leg but catches the back leg as Cane tries to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barrera lands a lovely overhand right.
Barrera fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cane has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Barrera dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Cane. That did some damage!
Cane doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Barrera counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Barrera connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Cane's hands.
Barrera feints and then cracks Cane's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cane down.
Barrera is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Horrible takedown attempt by Cane or perhaps it was just good defense by Barrera, which made it look bad.

Cane takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Cane darts in looking for a takedown but Barrera gets double underhooks and turns Cane into the cage.

It looks like Darnell Cane has been cut.
Barrera clobbers Cane with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Barrera lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

We've been told by Barrera's head coaches at The Studio that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Cane swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Barrera is looking to wear down Cane with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Barrera connects with a right hand. Cane shakes it off.

Barrera is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Cane's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Cane takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Cane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Barrera as he avoids it easily.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mario Barrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cane darts in looking for a takedown but Barrera gets double underhooks and turns Cane into the cage.
Barrera uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Barrera throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Cane on the side of the head.
Barrera is looking to slow Cane down with leg kicks.
Cane gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Barrera throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Cane is rocked!
Barrera connects with a nice cross there... Cane is looking wobbly and Barrera recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Cane to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Barrera jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
